Cook & Phillip Park CRN, Sydney

Not impressed, you're paying for location not food

31 Jul 2011

Had dim sum there and the food was terrible. The skin of the dim sum dishes is very thick (more indicative of a quickly and cheaply made) and the dishes don't have much flavor. Overall, this place doesn't deserve either the 4 cows it currently has or its reputation. It's more because of the location and one of the few places that non-vegetarians know about.

Jalan Nakula 18D, Kuta, Bali, Indonesia

Largest veggie restaurant in Bali undiscovered

27 Apr 2011

Just a few months old (as of April 2011), this restaurant pairs an extensive selection of vegan dishes (a mix of mock meat, tofu, tempeh, and vegetables) with a gorgeous setting. You walk up steps beside a fountain, the dining room overlooks a nicely manicured lawn surrounded by huts for additional seating, and a brightly lit display of buddhas showers the entire dining room with light.

Just OK but does have loyal following

Not my favorite place but mainly it is because I am not into the typical mock meat/Chinese vegetarian food. Space is very small and you don't go there for the ambiance.

My favorite vegetarian restaurant

27 Apr 2011

I am a huge fan of Vietnamese vegetarian food and this place is one of my favorite. Great vegan pho and clay pot rice dishes. Decor is standard. Has the big flat screen TV that constantly plays the Supreme Master Ching Hai channel which is really not my cup of tea but I love their food so I guess it comes with the territory.

Best vegetarian restaurant in Sydney!

31 Jul 2011

Creative, healthy (low GI), and delicious fusion Vietnamese food.

I love the dumplings, pho is yummy but a little sweet, lemongrass tofu if solid. Fresh rolls are all good. Salads are also very yummy.

One thing is that many dishes taste similar because they use quinoa and chia seeds as the main ingredient.

MUST TRY THE FIRE ROCK BURGER -5 Star Burger!

27 Apr 2011

This is a must stop whenever I am in NYC. Must try their Fire Rock Burger (ask for blue cheese sauce) which is the best vegetarian burger I've ever had (got all my friends addicted to it and they are not even vegetarians). It used to come with blue cheese sauce but they took it out of dish last year. I usually don't like blue cheese but this sauce makes the dish. The other great option if you come on weekend is their brunch. I love their tofu scramble and sausage patties. They also have really good smoothies as well!

11 Duong Tran Nhat Duat, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Best Vietnamese Vegetarian Restaurant

27 Apr 2011

I believe this is the vegetarian only restaurant which was the highlight of my trip to HCM City (They also have a Tib that is not vegetarian, which is very famous as well). Everything there was amazing. You can order almost any Vietnamese dishes you like in the vegetarian version and they all tasted amazing. Make sure you check their business hours since I tried to go there a few other times and it was not open (I could eat there every day). Prices is very reasonable for foreign visitors.

Prefer Dim Sum Go Go instead

27 Apr 2011

I used to come to this place every weekend for my dim sum fix...until I discovered Dim Sum Go Go near by. Dim Sum Go Go has better selection of steamed dumplings and it is made more delicately than Vegetarian Dim Sum House. VDSH has better fried dishes (taro ball comes to mind) and stir fry dishes. The only down side to DSGG is that they are not strictly vegetarian...but if you want the best vegan dim sum, they are surprisingly amazing.

Jl Dhyana Pura 5, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

If you like super healthy food, this is the place.

27 Apr 2011

Good selection of vegan dishes from a variety of cuisines (Mediterranean platter, Indonesian, etc). Flavor is slightly bland but that is expected of super healthy vegan places. Price is great. Ate the raw stuff (papaya salad, etc) and didn't have any stomach problems.
