Hidden Goodness Vegan
19 Jun 2008
This restaurant is hidden from the main Bolsa Ave in Little Saigon. However is it across the popular mall in L.Saigon. You will find it once you get into the driveway parking lot. My husband and I must have tried all Vege food in the area... So far this one is my favorite. It's very casual with a friendly atmosphere. The food stays true to Vietnamese tradition. It's not americanized. I'm not a fan of mock meat but the way Bo De prepare their food just took me by surprised. You also find dishes without the processed stuff... They don't over use it as other restaurants and you always get lots of fresh vegetables with all your dishes. My favorites are the rice noodle soup and the broken rice dish. The smoothies are below $3 and tastes like they used fresh fruits... You get a lot of food for what you paid... Very affordable... noodle soups are mostly below $7 and most dishes are below $8... There are also already cooked food you can get to go in hot trays, less than $3 per items... Great deal and fresh food. Ignore the casual look of the restaurant b/c the food will stand out.. I love it!

Spread the bad news

The restaurant is more about selling an experience by setting a chic and hip atmosphere. It is not a place to enjoy a plate of deliciously prepared vegetables. It's too much about being cool than being comfortable enough to enjoy your food. Although the food was "prepared" creatively, the amount was just ridiculously small. I like the idea of using fresh and local supplies; however that was the only thing I like about Spread. If you want to waste your time and money, this is the perfect place for you.

Cheap food cheap service

Great selection of food... Too bad the people don't speak English and expect Bad service... Their main focus is at the take out... There's many selection at the take out. They have like a buffet layout and you point or tell them what you want... it's $3 and cheaper for an item. I would eat here more if the service wasn't so bad. The food are fresh and the portion are awesome... I prefer going down the street to Bo De which is similar but with the better service and more tasty plates/smoothies.

Very Good Cakes

I only got to try a few dishes here... My husband's, bro in law, and my plate were very tasteless... the mock meat were very chewy and dried... The service was over the top Great. I think that was b/c the manager was serving our table most of the time. The cakes are SOOOOOOO Delicious!!! the prices are fair... pretty displays... I would like to come back here for the desserts and give the other food another chance. You have to try the vegan bake goods... I post some photos of it for teasers.

Relaxed Place compared to anywhere else

Relaxed Place compared to anywhere else I've been to in Vegas... This was the only vegie friendly place I can find in the area... The price was not so bad but the food wasn't filling... I had the BLT, then learn later they used the morning star bacon which has EGGS... uggg! they could have at least put a warning on their menu. Most of food is something you can prepare yourself. I rather eat there then at the over priced places on the strip... Most likely I will NEVER go back to stinky Vegas again.

Yummy in my Tummy

I had my husband do the donut run. Based on what he said... it was near the Orleans Hotel where we stayed... and was kinda hard to find... It was like going to an asian store b/c it was around asian plazas. The Donuts are SOOO GOOD!!! Yummy... he said there were only 4 variety of vegan donuts the rest were pastries. they close at 4... so make your run before they close.
