I went here with my husband. The inside is bright and a little over the top. My husband got the BBQ Himalayan skewers, which he really liked. I got the Royal Pho. It was so yummy! I wasn't a fan of the "beef" in it, but that is mostly because fake beef grosses me out. It had a "chicken" in it, too, which was really good. It was served in a huge bowl and I had enough leftover for a second meal. I would definitely get this again.

The interior is cozy and hip. They have an awesome beer list, and offer several vegan pizzas. I've tried them all! The #8 has artichokes, plum tomatoes, spinach, and walnuts. It was an interesting combination, but I almost choked on a walnut! The #9 has black beans, smoked corn, fresh plum tomatoes, cilantro, spinach, and scallions. I'm not sure I was really into the beans, but cilantro on pizza is amazing! The #11 has pesto, broccoli, plum tomatoes, and roasted garlic. This one was my favorite. The pesto and garlic compliment each other. I can't remember if it is an additional charge to add the vegan mozzarella to these pizzas or not.
The crust is pretty good. The cheese is also ok, but it's not melty and stretchy.
The bill can add up really fast. My husband and I eat here on special occassions only. He is not vegan and gets a separate pizza. Although we have leftovers, with drinks (two each), our bill is never less than $60.
Gets a little busy on the weekends.

Authentic Middle Eastern Cuisine

The flavors here are a little different than what most Lebanese cuisine in the area is like. The first time I ate here, I was left wishing that I went someplace more familiar. The Fattoush didn't have any lettuce, which left me wanting more, and the Lemon Lentil soup was very heavy on the lemon. Regardless, I was glad I tried it.
My mom and I recently went back because we were in the area and hungry. I'm glad I gave it another try! They were offering regular lentil soup, and when I asked if it was vegetarian, the waitress told me that it was indeed vegan! It was wonderful. I also got the falafel sandwich. It was offered fried or baked. I hate when I have the option because I always want to say fried, but feel guilty. So, the health-conscious part of me said baked even though I really wanted fried. I'm glad I went with baked. It was delicious and not dry at all (like I feared it would be).
So, go with an open mind and I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Deserves 5 Cows!
05 Oct 2011
I love places like Brick Road Pizza. As vegans, there is some sort of universal "stick it to the man" vibe regarding restaurants that aren't totally veg. For example, I cannot give this restaurant the 5 cows that it deserves. There is a higher chance that a meat eater will try vegan food if it's readily available to them in a non-threatening, "normal" restaurant like Brick Road Pizza, but I digress.
My husband and I ate here recently. There is parking in the back, and there is also a little parking lot around the corner. The inside is adorable. We sat at probably one of the most comfy booths ever. They serve some really great craft beers at a decent price.
Our waitress was adorable and didn't pressure me to order when I was obviously overwhelmed by the extensive amount of vegan foods offered. Let me also point out that the options were nearly endless and all so different. I ordered a vegan Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, which is unlike me because I don't like faux beef. I ordered ciabatta bread, which was amazing. It was flat and crisp, reminiscent of a Greek pita. The filling was amazing. It had seitan playing the roll of steak, and it was delicious. It didn't taste beefy or fake. The inside was gooey and creamy. I loved it. It came with a side of kettle cooked chips and a pickle. I wish there was an option on the side without having to pay $2 extra.
The prices were a little high. My husband ordered a non-vegan pizza and wasn't crazy about it for the cost.
All in all, I loved it here and would definitely go back!

I found this place by complete accident walking around Chicago. The menu on the window caught me off guard with all the vegan options. I got a bowl of the vegan Mac n Teese. It was ok, not amazing. I wish I would have tried a vegan dog with it. I got a vegan shake which was pretty delicious. All in all, they had more vegan options than a regular eatery, but I wouldn't consider it a must-try.

What a gem! I was in Cleveland for a day, and read such good reviews on this place that I had to try it. The inside is small but comfortable. They also had some outdoor seating available. I ordered the Mushroom Burger, which comes with a pickle and their side of the day. The side of the day didn't sound appealing to me, so I substituted it for their soup of the day which was Corn Chowder. I have never had Corn Chowder before, but after the first bite I was in love. They served it with Oyster Crackers. I think I had a Harry met Sally moment with the chowder. Then the burger came. I usually don't like veggie burgers. I mean, seriously, how many of those things can I eat? This one was different. It was served on a toasted bun with mushrooms, daiya, and veganaise. I added ketchup and mustard. SOOO GOOD!
Do yourself a favor. Eat there.

Vegan Bar Food
19 Sep 2011
I think the thing that threw me off the most about this place is that it is a straight up dive bar. From the previous reviews, I thought that it was just going to look sketchy from the outside, but I misread them and was thrown off. The decor is non-existant. This is a place that looks like a typical dive on the inside.
Orders are placed at the bar. If I were to go back, I would probably just sit at the bar for convenience sake. I ordered the Luna Burger and a side of fries. You can add any extras to the burger for free! I added Daiya, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms. It was delicious. I wasn't a huge fan of the pretzel bun, but I think that was just because of personal preference. The fries were very greasy. They were salted well, but I would skip them if I ever went back.
Please note that not all the beer is vegan. My husband is a huge beer drinker and knows all there is to know about beer. The Founder's Breakfast Stout contains milk chocolate.
This is not health food by any means, but I give them 4 cows for making it all vegan.

I took myself out for lunch yesterday and decided to give this place a try. It was really easy to find and in a nice location. The inside is bright and cheery.
You place your order at the register and then take a seat while your food is prepared. Make sure to grab your own silverware and napkins. The food didn't take long to come out. I ordered the 'Bello with Sweet Potato Fries. The sandwich came with a pickle and small side of slaw. I wasn't a fan of the cole slaw. It was oddly sweet and reminded me of the flavor of black licorice. The fries were served with a delicious balsamic ketchup. The ketchup was awesome; the fries themselves were pretty good. They were baked, and some of them were a little undercooked, but I liked them a little al dente. The sandwich was amazing. It was served on two thick slices of bread. The portabella was cubed and not served whole, which made it very flavorable and easier to eat. There was a generous amount of daiya on the sandwich, which was nice. I loved the carmalized onions.
The sandwich was a little messy, so make sure to grab napkins! I will definitely go back and try the pizza.

FYH was a dream come true. I visited my sister in LA and managed to go there twice, although I could have gone there every day and been perfectly happy. On our first visit, I got the reuben. It was delicious! The sandwich was huge and came with a side of carrot chips. Usually, I'm like "Cut the crap! No one wants carrot chips!" but they were really crisp and perfectly complimented the sandwich. The waiter was really funny and attentive. We sat out on the patio both times.
The second time I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. What can I say...I like sandwiches! It was very similar to the reuben, but I would say the reuben was better. Still came with carrot chips. Still huge. Still delicious.
If I lived closer I would go all the time. The food was sooooo good!!!!

Great Breakfast Food

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast. The guy taking my order was really helpful and nice. I got the vegan biscuits and gravy and the vegan breakfast bagel (so what! I was hungry!!!) The food was amazing. I actually ate it out in the parking lot. It certainly wasn't health food, but it was delicious.
I would recommend getting your food to go. Also, pee before you leave the house.

Best Falafel in Michigan

I dare you to find a better falafel sandwich in Michigan. It just doesn't exist. I'm sorry, you can try, but you won't succeed.

There is parking around the back, but you have to drive down a really tight driveway to get there. Not a big deal for me and my tiny car, but it might be an issue if you drive a Hummer. You place your order at the register. If you order drinks, it is self serve out of their fridge. There are about 8-10 tables in the back area to dine at. It's a nice atmosphere; much different from the Loving Hut in Chicago.
My husband wasn't hungry, so he got the $2 dumplings. There were 3 of them (2 for him and one for me). They were very good. Small, but the perfect mouthful. I ordered the American Panini. I loved it! It was melt-in-your-mouth yummy goodness. It came with a small side of what was called corn chips, but tortilla chips would be a more accurate description. The sandwich filled me up, so dessert wasn't an option. However, the desserts looked great.
The place was busy, but we were the only table that ate there for the most part. I would definitely go back if I'm in Cincinnati again.

I went on a Saturday night. We walked in the doors at 4:30 p.m. and didn't get seated until almost 7 p.m. (there were 2 of us) so there is a very long wait. Also, the kitchen can only make 6 sandwiches at a time, so it took an additional 45 minutes to get the food.
I ordered a sandwich with vegan mozzarella (they use Tofutti), avocado and tomato. There weren't very generous with the veggies. The bread and the french fries were amazing. The cole slaw was a little sweet, but not so much that it was sickening.
They have a really good beer selection. The atmosphere is really cool, but I don't think the food was really worth the wait. If I lived in the area, I probably would only get carry out.

I was very apprehensive to try Indian food again. Everything I had ever had before was overloaded with curry, cinnamon and raisins, and I truly believed that I didn't like Indian food. NeeHee's proved me wrong.
My husband and I ate here yesterday and I have been talking about it ever since. The reviews on Happy Cow and Yelp were all true. First off, I was expecting a real hole-in-the-wall and was pleasantly surprised when we entered. It is casual (you order at the register and wait for your number to be called) but it is clean and inviting. The place was busy, but we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive.
All vegan dishes are marked clearly with a V. We split three dishes: Gobi 65 (crispy cauliflower), Vada Pav (potato dumpling sandwich) and Aloo Chaat (crispy potatoes). It was all spectacular. The flavors were not too intense, but it was unlike anything I have ever eaten before. I highly recommend the cauliflower. It was amazing. We were full, and our total bill with 2 drinks was $19.56.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience. I hope that they build their new locations quickly because it will be closer to my house.

Treat your sweet tooth right. I got the cinnamon roll. It was really really really sweet. Maybe a little to sweet for my taste, but if you like sweet, this is for you. I brought Snickerdoodles home for my mom and sister. They loved them. I snuck a bite, and I loved them too!

Best Chinese Food Ever!!!

Their food is amazing. Almost any dish can be ordered vegan. I love the General Tao's with veggie chicken. The veggie soup is vegetable based and made at the restaurant. It is delicious!!! The vegetables in the soup are crispy and fresh. The mock meat is tasty and not too similar to actual meat.
The staff is very nice and accommodating. I have been here a million times and have never seen it really busy, so it is a great place to go if you are super hungry because you get right in and can start eating. I have never had a bad experience.
