Definitely worth going!
Amazing food with lots of mock meat.
Friendly staff: helpful and happy to arrange special requests (I asked them to add some BBQ pork in my noodles).
Quick service, huge portions and fair prices.

nice to find this veg place in a night market
I encountered this place while wandering around the night market. I chose a few proteins (a sausage, a sort of spring roll and a few nuggets) that were deep-fried for me. They were crunchy and not greasy as I would have thought.
Some other customers had a whole meal with rice, noodles and vegetables. I was amazed by how she prepared all this food in a few minutes and with so little space.
Very little english spoken, but the guy of the adjacent stall helped us out.
Inexpensive, worth a try! No eggs used, but I am not sure if all the proteins were 100% vegan, though.

I went to this place two evenings in a row. The first time I arrived at 7.30 ans there was nobody, just 4 persons from the staff eating rice and vegetables. I was not sure I was in the right place and kindly they explained to me that it is every day a buffet, but it close at 7 pm. Then the staff eat the leftovers. They assured me that normally there are plenty of dishes available and they invited me to come back. So I did it, the very next day. I was there at 6 pm and I even managed to be very hungry and once again there were 4 dishes of vegetables and seaweeds and some rice. I couldn't even eat that because the place has been reserved by monks and they won't allow my presence. Ok maybe I was not lucky, but I am not going to try again.
61 Victoria Street West, Auckland
I had plan to try several restaurants in Auckland, but after eating at the Loving Hut I just went back there.
Amazing food with lots of mock meat (my favourite: roasted "duck"!). Delicious desserts like cheesecake and coconut ice cream.
Huge portions and fair prices.
It a place for any occasion: nice for a quick meal (they have lunch specials), nice for a date or to go there with your family/friends.

it will be permanently closed from the 31.12.2014!
I went there today (29.12.2014) and the food was delicious as usual. But I was informed that they will stop operating from the 31st of December. So TOMORROW IS THEIR LAST DAY! If you are planning a visit just go and enjoy!

Good vegan option
The restaurant is run by an Asian family. All dishes are prepared under buddhist principles. Basically serving several mock meat dishes, spring rolls, fried stuffed buns and rice. Dishes may be a little oily, though. Huge portions. You can also get fresh soy milk. Amazingly inexpensive. English and Spanish spoken. Friendly owners. Recommended.

local restaurant, no tourists, good food, cheap!
We were staying at the Chungking Mansion and from there is a very short walk. Due to the fact that they have set menus for lunch (huge portion, cheap, fast service) we ended up having our brunch at the Cute Fei every day. Full of regular people on their lunch break, no tourist and almost no english spoken. A real buddist restaurant in town. We loved it.

for dinner is the best option in town
We have eaten there twice in a few days. Food is lovely, fresh, well seasoned and cheap. They have set meals, small and big, but they are happy to arrange some variations here and there, if requested.
Very few english spoken, but I think that for dinner is the best option in town.

Delicious food, lovely place
Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, english and pictured menù. So many choices you wish you could order anything! I had a long stop over in Shanghai and came to eat here from pudong airport. With the Maglev+Metro it takes about half an hour: definitely worth it!! I enjoyed everything about this place and I definitely recommend it.
Only do not count on their wi-fi, as usual in China, it works only if you have a chinese phone number.

I have my doubts ...
I have my doubts ...
The supermarket is nice and full of products. I was very happy to shop here, until I reached the cosmetic section, where I found products from johnson&johnson, procter&gamble and other brand that surely test on animals.
Also they do not accept credit card. Make sure to bring enough money.

Friendly little shop
Unfortunately the business hours are quite limited, but if you are in the neighborhood it is worth a visit. They mostly do take out: a portion of rice with a selection of vegetables and mock meats. They also have a noodles soup or boiled dumplings.
There are a few seats along the wall if you want to eat there.
Good location, very close to Ximen station.

there seems to be some confusion about which restaurant/stall we are talking about and how to get there.
We found both places on December 2010.
to get to KWADIN restaurant:
Exit Khua Din Bus station onto Rue Nongbone, turn right and walk for about 100 mts. You will go past a basket shop on the second corner, turn right, entering an alley that leads into Khua Din Market. Walk for about 50 mts. The restaurant is on the left side, next to a motorbike parking lot.
Open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Saturday
No a la carte, All you can eat buffet for 20.000 kip
Take away available.
There are at least 15 dishes to chose from, a lot of them containing some kind of fake meat or tofu and vegetables, There are also few salads, noodles and steam rice.
Welcoming staff, No english spoken although it isn't necessary.

very good! specialized in soups and hot pots
I have been in several Loving Hut so far and I always enjoyed a good meal!
This one is no different. I had a delicious spicy noodle soup and a wonderful chocolate cake.
Compared to other Loving Hut I have to say that this one is specialized in soups and hot pots: in the middle of the table there is a induction plate that you can turn on to keep your hot pot very hot. Beside noodle soups, rice soups and hot pots there are some skewers and a few western dishes. So if you are looking for fried noodles with vegan proteins or a dish with rice and proteins + vegetables (no soups) you will be a bit disappointed.
In the restaurant there is a little corner where there are a few products on sale, among them nice mock meats, mock fish, sausages, ham and so on.
Inexpensive! and they accept credit cards now!
Location is easy to find. From Sun Yan-Sen Memorial Hall station take exit number 2 and walk straight on. Turn the third alley on your right and you are there. Less than 5 min walking distance.

Cozy place, friendly staff, good food!
I was there around 6 p.m. and there was no buffet of course. I have ordered dumplings and a dessert: coffee and a slice of cake. The place is small and the selection of food is also limited. For instance the cake I had was the only one available today. But I have to say that I found the place extremely cozy. The staff was very welcoming and even though they have a very limited english, we managed to have a nice conversation. At around 6.30 p.m. I was the only customer and the staff was about to have dinner. They cooked stir-fried rice with vegetables and proteins. They offered me a small portion to taste so that I could share the meal with them! I will definitely come back in the future!

Friendly staff, amazing food, nice location
I live in Italy and I wish there were a Loving Hut here! The menù is huge and most of the dishes are delicious. Everyday you can have something new. This restaurant is smaller than the other one in Amoy Plaza and it is a little more expensive, but the atmosphere is cozier. Friendly staff, amazing food, nice location: worth a visit!

Disappointing: don't go there in the evening.
We went there on saturday evening. Before I checked on the Loving Hut website to be sure about the opening hours.
Once there, we just found two bored persons watching TV. The kitchen is running until after brunch, then they stay open only as a shop to sale vegan product. I was with a taiwanese friend and she was able to let them know that on the website it is written that on the contrary during the weekend they are open only in the evening.
The lady then agreed to make some food for us and I asked about the stinky tofu, which I really wanted to try. They don't have it anymore. To have some proteins dishes I had first to buy the protein from the freezer and than the lady would have cooked it for me.
I appreciated the offer, but 5 min walking distance from loving hut there is a nice local place where we had dinner.

if you are around it is ok just for a quick snack
We went there a week ago. We had a vegan panini with tofu, artichokes and olives and a wrap with a few ingredients (you can choose what to put inside from 6/7 different vegan proteins). I asked to add mayonnaise (the owner said "yes of course") but luckily I asked if it was vegan (it wasn't). The new owner inherited the place and maintained the vegetarian-vegan line of products, but she is not very familiar with the concept yet.
Nice soy milk cappuccino with a chocolate cannoli :-P
Quite small portions, inexpensive, an average place that I won't recommend for any particular reason .. if you are around it is ok for a quick snack.

not bad, not special either
I went there today with a friend at about 5 p.m.
I had seen the menu online and I was really looking forward to having a delicious slice of vegan cake. Unfortunately the one I would have liked to taste was sold out, and so were other two types. So, amongst 6 types of cake, 3 were sold out. That kind of forced me to order one I wouldn't have chosen and which was not very good. The one my friend had also was average, but better than mine.
Coffee and smoothie were nice, but pricey overall. Sad.
