friendly staff & decor
We're spoiled coming from NYC, so keep that in mind when reading this review. The atmosphere was friendly, as was the English-speaking staff, but we found the food to be hit or miss. The carrot spread on brown bread is tasty, as were the fresh juices, and the entrees (curry seitan and spicy seitan) were quite edible, but the appetizers and dessert were lacking. The bruschetta could've had more flavor, the empanada was too salty, while the brownie dessert with rasperries had a slightly bitter taste. I bet there are other apps and desserts that are better. I'd be willing to come back and try other apps and desserts, especially given the limited options in this carno-centric culture.

great place to get vegan Brazilian food
As a vegan activist, how could I not check out a restaurant with this name? It was a very quaint little spot to have lunch. Most of all, I was thrilled to be able to try the Brazilian specialty, feijoada, a smoky rice and beans dish, sprinkled with ground manioc and served with greens. My husband had the only other meal option (you choose between two meals, and you choose between two portion sizes), which was a sort of tropicalized stroganoff. While it didn't taste like any stroganoff I've ever had, it was pleasant, and it had manioc chunks, which were mmm-mmm good. For dessert we chose two banana dishes: one in a cup with dates, and one in a cake form, with cashews. All in all, a welcome, satisfying, and, most importantly, Brazilian vegan meal.
Conde de Bernadote 26, loja L, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
As New Yorkers, we're totally spoiled by outstanding vegan cuisine. When we came here to carni-country, we didn't expect to find good vegan eats and were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. We both ordered a different pizza, which really hit the spot. The caipirinhas were the best we've had yet in Rio.
