a hearty veggie breakfast.
Very good food, unique veggie menu, very filling, inexpensive, and friendly service. The only problem is the hours. It took me 3 tries heading down there before I finally found it open when it said it would be. But it's good enough to go back.

Best Breakfast in Austin
Every time I go, I tell myself I'm going to order something new, and every time I fail. I love the breakfast sammich so much that I order it every time. But I manage to steal food from friends, and it is all good too.
This is the first place I bring out-of-towners for breakfast, and everyone leaves happy.
they are dog-friendly, they have a new location which is great and the service is excellent as well.

Delicious - a guaranteed spot hitter
The food is incredible. Amazing that food that healthy can taste that good. I definitely recommend going during the all-you-can-eat buffet. I'm not as fond of the pay per plate-full style of service,(which is the only reason I don't give it a perfect score) though it's understandable from a business standpoint. The outside seating and gardens are very nice. also dog friendly.

5 Happy Cow Faces... Compared to other Raw places.
I've been to 4 raw food places, and my wife went through a phase where she was eating only raw. I ate it, but I didn't like it. So if I hadn't received a gift cert. to Beats I wouldn't have gone. But I'm glad I did. It was very good, and compared to other raw places, it was excellent.

Tastes like Austin
It would be nice if they didn't serve meat, but this place really seems to capture Austin cuisine... that is when you're not talking breakfast tacos. It's not inexpensive, but it's more than worth the price. If you ever have outoftowners who want to taste Austin, this is your place.

Best Thai in Austin
The best Thai I've had in Austin, by miles. It may be the only good Thai in Austin, though I'm sure there's at least one Thai place out there that I haven't tried... maybe. But if you're feeling like Thai, I wouldn't chance going anywhere else.

Yes, the T-shirts are great, but sadly nothing else is. The next best thing about this place is the charmingly poor service. The biggest problem is the food. But the menu is extensive, so I kept going back... maybe this time... but no. The food is consistently pretty bad. so sad because I was expecting this to become my go-to vegetarian restaurant when I moved to Austin.

I have been introduced to Jack fruit as a meat substitute. While everything I've had there has been very good, the BBQ Jack fruit is amazing. I tend to enjoy a variety, but some places just have that one thing to which I can't say no. It's also a nice neighborhood, dog friendly and inexpensive.

Best Restaurant in Downtown Austin
I've never had a bad meal here. My favorite place downtown. And great to bring people who can't go without meat.

Uh-oh... what's happening?
I've been there 10 times. I enjoyed it 8. the problem is, those were the first 8 times I went. I'm hoping it's just a coincidence. I'm hoping something hasn't changed in their process. I'm hoping the next time I go it will be as good as the first 8, and not as bad as the last 2.

The food could be better
The food's not terrible, good menu, but if I didn't have friends that lived right near it, I wouldn't bother.

Everything is good but the food.
Sad to say this place is not very good. It has everything going for it, menu, atmosphere, service... but you can't have a good restaurant if the food doesn't taste good. The funny thing is, I keep going back, thinking maybe I just had a bad experience, and I've tried dozens of items on the menu. But I've yet to be pleased with the taste. I think I've given Mother's its last chance.

not worth going back.
I've only been once, so this may not be a fair review, but since I'm not going back, I may as well. It's not that it's a bad place, it's just not worth going back. The food was below average and it was kind of pricey.

I can't recommend it.
not a rant, just a warning...
I had two bad experiences too many. Awful service, from someone who claimed to be a manager, though he didn't know the menu or what seitan is. He pushed a "tasters menu" on us, which was very small and very expensive. I don't mind spending extra on food as long as the food is good, which it isn't. As per ujshe, I went back to give it a second chance, and though the service was quite a bit better, the food was still poor. I'm guessing when they were opening, they had to choose between a chef and a microwave.

It may be a chain, it may be cheap, it may not be fresh, but it's actually very descent - and there are far unhealthier places. My wife and I can walk to one, and every once in a while when we're feeling lazy, we do. The service is excellent, and I especially enjoy the vegetarian soups and gingerbread.

Can't go wrong with good food.
No service No atmosphere just good food... and my indian friends claim it is authentic.
I recommend you bring your own spork and enjoy.

Popcorn Tofu. I don't really need to say more. Those who have tried it, know the truth. For anyone who out there who doesn't care for Tofu (myself included) You will love this stuff. And most everything they have is very good. baked goods, frito pie, smoothies, etc... good service. not 100% vegie, and not cheap, but worth going back.
