An experience worth having
I have a wonderful auntie who was a vegetarian 30 years before it was cool. This is one of her favorite places, and I now love it as much as she does. One must try the Neatloaf. I have traveled 80 miles for it.
Now, do be aware that the restaurant is run by a religious group. Pay no mind to this. Just enjoy your neatloaf.

A wonderful out-of-the-way find!
A vegetarian living in Sacramento for 13 years, you could have knocked me over with a feather when I discovered Noble Vegetarian. What a find! I have been three times and have loved each dish. My favorite is the Ruby Pearls, which is fried tofu balls in sweet and sour sauce. I have dreams about this dish! All the Love From Above dishes are also very tasty.

I want to love S&S....
S&S is the type of place one wants to love. Small, locally owned shop with good fast food grill and produce.
The problem, as others have said, is prices. They have many brands that are now fairly easy to find (i.e. Amy's) but their prices can can twice as much. I do still shop here now and again, but feel a little resentful when I do.

It really is a Shangri-la...
My same auntie who introduced me to Anonda also introduced me to Shangri-la. This was 28 years ago. Shangri-la has been around for a long, long time, and there is a reason. The sweet and sour walnuts are to die for.
Funny story: some of my family members went together to Shangri-la. Among them was my brother-in-law, who is a typical Argentine man - never met a cow he didn't want to eat. His English wasn't great at this point, and throughout the meal, ate dish after dish of vegetarian meat replacements and had no idea they were not dead animals.

I love the Sunflower. I love the charming, casual atmosphere that makes me feel like I'm in a photo shoot for Sunset Magazine. I adore the nut burgers, nut tacos - everything I've tried here, I love. Eating at the Sunflower is like a mini-vacation.
