A Chiang Mai Classic
05 Jul 2012
Aum is a peaceful spot (upstairs), really central and has a great menu. The fresh spring rolls, the seaweed salad (on the pricy side but it is a big portion), and the soups are my favourites, The staff is kind and the food is value for the money. They have a used books store and sell natural body care products downstairs, their mosquito repellant is great. And they have a big board with the latest yoga and workshop ads, a nice place to go to catch up on news.

Delicious Beetroot Salad!
04 Jul 2012
The salads at Beetroot Stories is a lovely change from the standard menus in Chiang Mai's veggie cafes. I had the beetroot salad twice, it was a big portion of boiled beetroot with cashews and a drizzle of olive oil, and had a delicious dollop of pesto in the middle. Beetroot Stories is a little hidden behind Wawee Coffee on Ratchadamnon but really central. She also serves breakfast (coffee with coconut milk!) and all the food is organic, sourced from local farms and vegetarian.

Great Food, Sad Location
14 Jul 2012
After the bustling and friendly lunch buffets from the Chiang Mai Khun Churn, I was a little disappointed as I wandered around the Mediplex, passing one clinic after another... One positive thing though: it's very easy to get to from the BTS station Ekkamai. Pretty space, nice long menu, kind staff.
Food was OK, I had a the macrobiotic plate with some extra veggies, it was a little bland (no seaweed, no tahine, just veggies, grains and beans).
Would I go back? Maybe, there aren't many other vegetarian/healthy/nice places in central Bangkok. But I might also just go to one of the great salad bars in Central Chitlom or Terminal 21 Gourmet for example...
