Exquisite setting and food
31 Jul 2012
After walking up several steps and in through the front door, my eyes were feasting upon this very unique configuration of alcoves, private rooms and other seating arrangements.
A bakery case to your right was filled with all gluten free yummies. There should be a law that says if you go to this restaurant you HAVE to buy the mini blueberry pie - it is seriously sumptuous and you can eat some of it on the 101 freeway when you are in stop and go traffic trying to get back home!! haha!
I sat on the outside patio and was served by the manager; not only was she my server but she showed me around the place while I took some pictures.
I had the Protein Scramble which scrambled my tummy with happiness!!
I left my car there and walked to the beach!
This place feels like home to me and I do hope that you have the same feeling when you go to Adama Vegan Comfort Cuisine.

Zoom to Doomie's ASAP!! LOL!

I went to their soft grand opening and the food was unbelievably good!! It's a vegan paradise, people! I have had their food at a couple different functions, too, and I just melt when eating it! Thank you Doomie's!!

Unique & Funky
26 Sep 2010
The parking lot was full so I figured it must do a good business.
When we walked through the front door, it wasn't clear it was a restaurant and it isn't - it's a market also. To your right is all organic produce, bulk products at very reasonable prices, salad bar and lots of other food products.
We ordered at the counter (Shawna was very friendly and helpful) and they bring your food to you at either your inside or outside table.
I felt that the prices were a bit high, but the food was above average in taste and presentation.
The decor in the restaurant section was... well, there was none. There were pictures on one wall that looked 1970s, the tables were old & wooden; just really no ambience to it at all. An interior decorator could SO improve it, but I suppose they are going for that hippie/funky/groovy feeling, and if so, they achieved it!!

Follow your HEART to "Follow Your Heart"!!! :)

OMG!! Love it!!! Two thumbs (and eight fingers) up!!!
You walk into the door and it's like walking into the 60s!! Cool hip hippies working there. All kinds of spiritual stuff in the store by the produce section. The only thing missing is the black light!! LOL!!!
The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. In the summertime, they have a mister that sprays water and makes it more comfortable. It does get to be in the 100s there!!
The Vegan Reuben has got to be one of the BEST meals I have ever had. Seriously. I just savor every bite, anticipating the next until voila... the whole thing is in my tummy!!! (Sometimes I will take the other half home for another meal.)
I follow MY heart to "Follow Your Heart" as often as I can and I suggest you do the same!!
hugs to all!!

OJAI & A VEGAN RESTAURANT? YES!!!!!!!!
09 Jan 2012
Opening the gate off the main street in Ojai onto HIP's property is like walking into the 1960s or 1970s; groovy, funky & HIP!!
On their outside dining area, they had an acoustic guitarist singing mellow songs on the Saturday we went.
Owner is very friendly and the food very good. I had the ultimate burger which was tempeh with a BOWL of delish split pea soup and my friend had the bbq burger with a huge absolutely beautiful salad. Seriously good food.
Word of warning: Try not to go during the height of the lunch hour like we did. We waited around 40 minutes for our food, so thankfully the food was superb!! Just a bit pricey for lunch: spent $29 for two people with no drinks.

Scrumptious Taste & Visually Tantalizingly
19 Sep 2014
I went with a friend for lunch today. The place was very busy, and after tasting the food and the attentive service, I understand why.
Has a clean, crisp, modern decor with unique counter seating with bar stools for about 20 people, plus has several tables and chairs and outdoor seating. They are willing, able and ready for customers!!
I had The JOi Enchiladas for $13.95: Filled with sweet potatoes, fresh peppers, spinach, corn, black beans, coconut, cinnamon and cilantro topped with homemade enchilada sauce and fresh California avocado. Seriously creative, unique and scrumptiously and tantalizingly beautiful to the eye and to the palate.
My friend had the Mushroom Bahn Mi for $9.95: Grilled portabella mushrooms, house-pickled Asian vegetables, shaved jalapeno (if you shave it wrong OUCH), cilantro, mint, basil and vegenaise. Served on a toasted roll. He loved it!!
If you are anywhere within 100 miles of this place, do not hesitate, do not pass GO... go directly there - you and your tummy will thank you!!

Not So Happy Days!
27 Nov 2011
A friend and I went there about two months ago. We walked in and looked around and thought, hmmmmm... where is the restaurant? The building was old and not taken care of very well, sadly (not happily). After asking someone, we were told that a tiny little space at the entrance to the store was where the food was (in food container inserts) and the very limited menu on a board. Reluctantly, but hungry, we decided since we drove all the way out there, we would try it. The food was on the underside of mediocre and the plate was visually unappealing. I wanted to write this review not to put down the place, but to make others aware that it is not a cafe or a restaurant and not to except that like we did.

The last time I went into this place they did not have even one vegan entree in their fresh 'deli' section. They had a couple of vegetables only, but no vegan entree. I had to buy something from the market to eat.

Seriously & Excruciatingly Superb/Exciting Food!!
18 Mar 2013
I had brunch here a couple weeks ago and was quite pleasantly surprised when I bit into my Sweet Dumplings appetizer. The taste, texture and presentation were exquisite. Then I bit into the Tex Mex Chimichanga Egg Rolls appetizer and knew I was in vegan heaven. Gourmet vegan food at its best.
Since I am a vegan baker myself and eat enough of my own delectable delights, I did not partake in KindKreme's desserts, but maybe next time.
I will tell you that it is very hard to find. I never saw a sign for Sage, but I did see a KindKreme sign and just passed it by not realizing it was in the same building. When I walked in and asked if this was Sage, the friendly counter people said it was. It is a basic & funky type of atmosphere with an up and downstairs eating area. It is very casual and hip with attentive wait staff.
No matter where you live, if you are a vegan, vegetarian or vegan/vegetarian-curious, you HAVE to go to this place!! I have been a vegan since 1997 and have never tasted such flavorful cuisine.

I ate here today for the first time as I was in the San Diego area visiting family. Offers counter service and the staff is very friendly! I was told their most popular items were the jackfruit burger and the reuben, so I had the reuben. The bread was grilled to perfection and it was filled with seitan, sauerkraut, swiss cheese and thousand island dressing on rye, vegan-style! My mouth was very happy, as was my tummy! It was served with a side of kale chips that were seasoned with vinegar and sea salt. The staff's favorite juice was a citrus juice, which, I ordered and my taste buds were fully awakened with every sip I took! There were a variety of other items on the menu that I would guess would be equally as satisfying. I recommend this place!

Who would have thought there would be an all-vegan bakery in a little town like Santee in East San Diego County? I am visiting family in the area and decided to give it a try and I was very happy I did. I got chocolate chip cookies for the family and for myself a chocolate cupcake with buttercream frosting and an oatmeal triple chocolate chunk cookie. All of them were fabulous; my favorite being the oatmeal cookie!! I could live on these and almond milk!! haha! You've got to try this small bakery. It is not a fancy place at all, just the bare minimum four walls and a ceiling, but the baked goods are superbly super!!

I Love to Eat Stuff at 'Stuff I Eat'!!
25 Mar 2012
Okay, where do I start? Hmmmmm... this is a happy-family family-owned restaurant. One of the owners came out and asked me if it was my first time there and I said yes and she announced it to all the people in the restaurant and asked if anyone else was new and everyone clapped and was happy for us! My friend and I got the Soul Food Platter and the Breakfast Burrito. Huge portions. Quality food. Crazy-good unique flavors encircled my mouth as I tasted all the stuff!! This place feels like a sense of community, not just because the owners are happy & positive & love what they do. Colorful space with beautiful furnishings and art work adorning the walls... a place that we didn't want to leave. Btw, my friend is not a vegan (like me) or vegetarian and he loved the place, too!! This is located in a very nice area in Inglewood; just really cool and inviting.

This food raw-ked my taste buds!!
I had the Italian Sandwich, my friend the Zucchini Lasagna, and we shared a bowl of mushroom soup.
Hello??? How can they make just ordinary ingredients taste so extraordinary and make your mouth and tummy SO happy?? Pure genius I tell you!
To look at owner/chef Ron he doesn't physically show signs of possessing super human qualities like Superman or Spiderman or any other super-hero, but he does.
The place is small yet can accommodate many. It is clean, and nicely, yet simply decorated. In addition to inside seating, two tables adorn the sidewalk.
Parking is metered for maximum one hour at a time on the same side of the street; two hours at a time across the street.
If you have been thinking about going to this place, stop thinking and just do it! Your tummy and mouth will thank you!!
Their food is the reason they are one of the top vegan restaurants in the world and are in Happy Cow's first ever cookbook out in June 2014!
Pure genius, I tell you!

Wow!! Friends brought me here one time and I had not tried Thai food before. Well, it certainly won't be my last!! :)
This place rocks... DELICIOUS food, great service, nice location.
I went with two friends and we all shared the following dishes: stir fry chow mein, red curry with brown rice, Thai soup and fresh rolls. What a treat!!!
This place is a must-eat-at!!! Your tummy will thank you for it!!!

I went here for lunch recently. I circled the parking lot two times before parking across Moorpark St in the lot of a large shopping center.
My waitperson, Laura, gave attentive service.
They offer a lunch special from 11am-3pm Mon-Fri. The menu does not state that you can add a salad for $2.00 to the items you choose from the specials' list. I had the quinoa sticks, veggie dumplings and small salad; all were tasty and prices were reasonable. To me, it was just average; nothing really spectacular.
Their green sign was very noticeable, so it's easy to find. The restaurant itself is a bit small and basic. I am not really looking to go back there, but if in the area and hungry, will stop by.
