Anacardos vs Girasoles

We think it's not entirely fair to compare Girasoles with Anacardos: both cater for a completely different crowd. At Anacardos you can spend a pleasant time in a nice atmosphere, maybe even sip a glass of wine if you feel like it. We found the starters to be quite yummy and the juices are excellent. Maybe some of the salads are a bit boring (the bulk is iceberg) and we enjoyed some of the main dishes more than others. But hey, we're in South America...
If you're not in the need to fill your tummy on a budget it's well worth a visit.

a great find!

THis place is great. All the food is vegan and very reasonably priced. Their smoothies are out of this world (strongly recommned turkish delight smoothie: banana, peanut butter, soya milk, dates and carob).

We stayed for 5 days in Muizenberg and pretty much ate here every single day! ;o)

Wow...

Great food, moderate price and AMAZING desserts!!! Strongly recommend! I had the best chocolate mousse ever and all totally dairy and egg free!

Holanda 3362, Santiago, Chile

Off the beaten track

Definitely high up there on the list of places to try in Santiago if you're after some inspiring food. They were quite happy to veganize our menu del día without making it boring.
If the location (i.e. not near a Metro) puts you off, hop on the 104 bus at Los Leones (Suecia con Providencia) and get off when it crosses Simon Bolívar. From there it's a 2 min walk.

May no longer serve food? Can anyone else confirm?

End of Nov 2015, tried to eat there several times for breakfast, lunch and dinner and we were told each time that "today" they don't serve food. Not sure if it's because it's low season and they may just have decided it was not worth the hassle. The hostel with the same name is still there.

92 Boulevard de Beaumarchais, Paris, France

Easy asian

Quite a few options: salads, spring rolls, stir fies, quiche, textured soya in different forms too (if that's your thing).

We were surprised to find this in Paris: nice food and reasonable price. Also nice cakes and juices!

cosy and different

Very friendly place and people, a cob house built by the current owners who are trying to live sustainably. They have a lovely en-suite guest room which they run as a B&B. Vegan breakfast (toast, jam, peanut butter, muesli, soya milk, fruit) is available upon request, but give them 24h notice to be sure.

The house also features solar water heating, grey water recycling, solar passive design and ecological soap and cleaning products. The neighbourhood feels very safe and slightly alternative (lots of surfers and hippies). It is easy (and safe) to get to cape town by train (about 40mins). We stayed for 5 nights and can highly recommned it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced lodging experience with a personal touch.

Nice surprise

Tiny little veggie place with a good choice of lentil, chickpea, tofu burgers and other items (see photo of the menu we uploaded). Unfortunately they didn't seem to be very busy, so not sure how long they'll survive... Go and eat there if you happen to be in the area! (o:

Lübeckerstrasse 85, Hamburg, Germany

decent food for budget price

Nice little place with a lunch buffet, due to its small size perhaps not the most exuberant selection to choose from, depends on your expectations. We went there one mid-week afternoon between 15h and 16h hours and they were still restocking the buffet for us even though the place wasn't exactly busy any longer, which we thought was nice. We enjoyed the food and thought it was tasty (but it wasn't very hot/spicy if that's what you are after) and left with a full tummy, thinking that those 6 Euros per head were well spent.

a must-go if you are a vegan in Bristol

this is a great place to do your weekly shop. Lots of variety and choice packed into a quite small space. definitely worth a visit!

Hidden gem - Ring the bell!

Lovely and yummy food but this place is very well hidden. From the outside it looks like a residence. Dont be scared, ring the bell! ;o)
