My husband and I adore this place..... quirky, great food, good background music.... a great live music venue if that is your fancy but we go for the great vegan food and amazing array of beers from around the world and the great coffees.... vegan and gluten free cakes. We really hope that it doesn't close down with all the cuts because it is great to actually have a real choice of foods as a vegan. Can't praise it enough.... we even love the mismatched tables and chairs....

Rarely open and didn't have soya milk
I live in Southport and was really looking forward to having a vegetarian / vegan restaurant in town.... but we have only found it open once and then it did not have any soya milk for a soya latte. However the vegan cake was nice and they had more than one vegan option for the main meal.... but since then we have tried at numerous times on a variety of days of the week and it is always closed... this is no way to run a new business.

What a great restaurant and store.... great food, ethical, compassionate and delicious!! makes you feel good about yourself eating here... slightly on the pricey side BUT not for the quality and ethicality of the food.... furniture not exactly comfortable... nor is the space, and the furniture and flooring can make it a little noisy but a great atmosphere and a little like a fun canteen.... I just love the place... it would be hard to beat...

Superb shop and restaurant
I just adore the Eighth Day.... it has been around for yonks and has always provided a great shop and a wonderful cafe/restaurant.... convenient for both uni's.... great ethics..... delicious food and drinks and great ideas in the shop for improving your diet and lots of ethical treats to buy for yourself.... can be a little noisy down in the cafe but a young friendly bunch of people...just tops!

Delicious food... convenient location
We have just made a trip to Wigan to try this place out.... the variety of food suitable for vegans was great! We had so many options.... and the welcome couldn't have been better... I had the satay stir fry extra spicy and my husband had the falafel burger... extra moist! He had a soya milkshake with fresh strawberries and I had a soya caramel latte and then we had vegan cake for dessert... lemon cake and peanut cake... both delicious and again so moist. Nothing is processed, it is all fresh food. It was certainly worth the trip. It is also conveniently located near to the bus and train stations. Friendly, casual eating and good for a chat.
