Best falafel in the world! Or at least DC

15 Jan 2014

This is one of my favorite spots to eat in DC. Cheap, healthy, delicious, and vegetarian. What more could you want? The real highlight is instead of your standard falafel (pita, hummus, tomato, lettuce) you get a bar of at least 10 toppings to put in your pita, including different vegetables, sauces and mixes. Not to be missed! They now offer Belgian fries too!

tasty home-cooked food

Great spot in a not so great neighborhood. The spinach artichoke ravioli was delicious. The neatloaf was so-so. I loved the mango lassi.

Best sushi period!

09 Jun 2014

So...I like Sushi. I mean, I usually get a cucumber roll or avocado roll or something like that. Now I realize how incredibly boring and unimaginative most vegan sushi is now that I have been to Beyond Sushi! It's not just food, they are works of art. They combine flavors, and the right amount of ingredients to create truly beautiful vegan rolls. I had the mushroom roll, the sriracha mango roll, and three of their hand rolls. They were delicious, filling, and inexpensive - at 6.95 a roll it hardly sets you back for the quality. A clear winner and a must-eat for any veg person in NYC!

great inventive pizza!!

28 Sep 2014

I'm vegetarian not vegan so was a little skeptical about ordering food from a vegan pizzeria where the cheese was not authentic. However I thought it was delicious! My favorite was the Funghi pizza and the pizzas are all very inventive and good. The crust is also excellent and I highly recommend!

It was ok

09 Jun 2014

I've been wanting to try Blossom in NYC forever after seeing all the good reviews on happycow. On my list, my bf and I finally went on our vacation to NYC. It was ok. The dining experience was nice, though the pasta was a little plain, and his vegan lasagna was ok.

yuck

12 Apr 2015

I was really excited to try this place. We got the portobello mushroom tempura and a sushi roll. Both were deep fried and tasteless. We felt like we were eating vegan junk food. Presentation was good, but that's all. And who takes cash only in this day and age?? You would need a lot of cash for this.

Top 5 restaurant I've eaten at

15 Jan 2014

I can't even begin to explain how delicious this food was. It was all new and all incredible. The pumpkin dish and stuffed dumplings were the best Asian dishes I have ever eaten. Let's just say Cambodian food uses a lot of my two favorite ingredients: garlic and ginger. What a treat! A must in Siem Reap.

great date spot!

27 Oct 2014

We really enjoyed our experience at Charlie! The atmosphere is great - you would have no idea it is a vegan place until you read the menu. The clientele are not your granola kind. You know how awkward it is going to a regular tapas place with non-veg friends. Finally, a vegan tapas place where everyone wins! Even the gluten free folks are accommodated. My favorite cocktail was the el conquistador and dish the Maryland crab cakes. The spaghetti meatball dish was great too, but I didn't care much for the lemon saffron artichoke though it's presentation was the nicest. I docked a star because they tell you to order 4 tapas per person and the two of us were stuffed with 5 between us.

Yum!

Calling all Indian street food lovers! This place is always good for a yummy treat. I would not say it's the most nutritious however. The price is a little more expensive than what I would like to pay. The food is also a little too spicy.

Not good

24 Feb 2014

This is the first brunch place where I hated my food. My omelet was SO oily that when I pressed my fork on it, oil just gushed out. Who wants to eat oily eggs? (and trust, it wasn't olive oil either). Not to assume that all vegetarians and vegans are health conscious, but I simply can't stand the taste of very unhealthy fried and oily food. And that totally ruins the dish for me. And it was expensive too.

My favorite restaurant in the entire world!

15 Jan 2014

This is true, I have been happily eating at Happy Cow restaurants in about 32 countries now and I have yet to find a restaurant as delicious as Food for Thought. They change their menu every day, has a very local feel, everything tastes fresh and organic and the dessert is incredible. It's very busy and their hours are a bit hard to manage, but a must eat for any vegetarian in London!

Great African find

03 Mar 2014

If your only experience with African food is Ethiopian, look no further to Ghana Cafe. Unfortunately, Ghana itself is a very veggie-unfriendly country, but that didn't stop the owners from reinventing their dishes to the vegetarian crowd in DC. Half their menu is vegan. I highly recommend the Spinach Egusi, peanut soup, and Jollof rice.

Loved this place!

14 Jan 2014

I adored this place. As a vegetarian tourist, I found Tel Aviv to be heaven. But this place not only had excellent food, but also an excellent DJ and vibe. What a cute hipster restaurant! I ordered a seitan burger and it was excellent. The only downside was that I ordered apple cider expecting it to be cider, but it was just apple juice. Otherwise, a fantastic find!

It's more of a cafe than food

16 Jan 2015

Everyone raved about the dishes, but we went twice - first time it was closed, and the second they only had eggs to serve. It didn't seem like they had much of a menu and people stop by more to drink a smoothie or coffee. Be warned, this isn't really a restaurant. The eggs were tasty though (if you are vegetarian).

So happy this opened in DC

01 Oct 2014

Finally, a vegan eatery close to downtown! So many have come and go, and I truly hope this one is here to stay. I went during opening week, so management has a few kinks to work out, but was very pleased with the food! I had the blackened tacos, and they were yummy! I can't wait to try the other items on the menu!

Ok Food

22 Jan 2014

I want to love science club because of the name, location, and the fact that its veg. But they aren't open for lunch, odd for a prime office location and when I finally made it to happy hour, food was ok not great.

Avenida Tulum, Tulum, Mexico

Ok

16 Jan 2015

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and really sweet. I was excited about the food and decided to order the only Mexican dish on the menu - soy Enchiladas. However, I didn't enjoy them that much - it was alright. Maybe the European dishes are better.

Plaza La Isla, Blvd. Kukulkán Km 12.5, Zona Hotelera, Cancun, Mexico

Excellent - I would put 5 stars if HappyCow allows

22 Jan 2015

You would be surprised to know that a restaurant in Mexico offers some of the most delicious Indian food I have ever had (speaking as an Indian!). We especially enjoyed the palak dumplings. The restaurant is extremely beautiful and quiet - being on the water making it the most romantic setting. The customer service is excellent. Vegetarian section in the menu. Highly recommend.
