Can't wait to visit again

Fantastic. As a chef and longtime vegan I was absolutely thrilled with this restaurant. The food was fresh, flavorful and filling. We had the tempeh spring rolls (baked, not fried) with pickled vegetables, smoothies, the Santa Fe burger, the falafel wrap and desserts. The desserts were a little underwhelming (in comparison to Cafe Sunflower in Atlanta), but everything else was really great. Certainly rivals Candle Cafe in NYC for best vegetarian restaurant I've visited. Oh, and it didn't hurt that they played Bob Dylan the entire time we were there. Wish we lived closer.

Not saying that this is true of Green Sprout (or the myriad of other vegetarian restaurants in the city), but I think it's important to read some interesting findings out in LA.

Basically, a lot of what restaurants call vegan (or egg-free/dairy-free) isn't even close to vegan. Just adds more fuel to the fire that they really should be more careful with what you eat.

I have eaten at Green Sprout many times and it has always been delicious. Large portions, cheap prices. I will continue to eat there, but will likely forgo the fake meats and go with the best thing on the menu: Apple Fried Rice

Great food, cheap prices

Was with 2 omnivorous co-workers travelling through and I suggested this place based only on its convenience to the highway. Next time, I will suggest it for its great food. Everything that is vegan is clearly marked, they have dairy-free pesto, fantastic bread, tempeh chili, and tofu available as a sub all over the place.

Best vegan meal I have ever had

They did bring us the wrong food, but it was a fortuitous mistake that ended with my wife and I have the best vegan meal we have ever had. This far eclipsed my experience at Candle 79 and anything in Atlanta that we have had to date. Our taste buds wished we lived closer, but our wallets - and waistlines, are not.
