Vegan Comfort Food
I LOVE Bean. My kids and I took my husband for his birthday and we all ordered a different sandwich. Everything was great. The jalapeno burger is pretty much the best burger ever. We also ordered a fried pickle appetizer. This was my 1st experience with fried pickles and I was more than pleased. They were very tasty.
The employees were really friendly and chatty. We enjoyed our overall experience at Bean and recommend it to all!
****Also, the food isn't "healthy." It's fried and salty and is exactly what it's supposed to be. I don't detract from a rating due to that. If I wanted super healthy and/or raw food/salads, I'd go to the appropriate establishment. If I want a burger and fries, Bean is the place! ;)

Don't miss it.
Great options for those seeking vegan options, organic food, health food, or all natural products. Try the falafels and dumplings they sale. Great stuff. Also, super friendly people. The lady who works there has lots of awesome food/cooking tips to pass along. If you want something they don't have, ask. They may order it for you. :)

A delight for your taste buds!
Their food is so delicious. There was an explosion of flavor in my mouth. My mom and I ordered quite a bit so we could try an array of their vegan offerings. We enjoyed everything we got. In the future, I probably wouldn't order a samosa due to it being a bit spendy for only 1. However, the other vegan apps would make for a great meal due to their size. They also offer free refills for tea. Some places don't, so I was happy to see that they do here.

Hits the spot.
Oh how I miss going to Chinese restaurants. This place sure did cure my long time craving for it. My kids opted for the veggie burger and fries while my husband and I split an order of lo mein and some general tso's mock meat. The portions were huge and the flavor was great. Very pleasing.

Great Vegan Options
They have great options for all meals. Breakfast is served all day. Thumbs up for that. The breakfast platter with tofu scramble, kale, and sweet potatoes is very satisfying although a tad too oily. There's nothing fancy about the biscuits however I quite like them! The fries are delicious and you can opt for tempeh on the wraps and sandwiches.
The Asian Chop Chop salad is fantastic. Definitely try it.

I'd Really Like To Give A 3.5
The food was tasty. My vegan family of 4 was satisfied for the most part (my non-picky kids weren't too fond of the sauce that the tofu was cooked in).
We all ordered different combos and while they were tasty, they were small for the price. My husband was still hungry after finishing off his meal. I was satisfied but still feel as though the price is a bit steep. My youngest son, who is a light eater, only had a little bit of leftovers.
Despite all of that, I can see us visiting them again. I REALLY liked their summer rolls and sauce for dipping! Plus the service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was neat and clean.
Oh and the program playing on TV that people keep mentioning wasn't in while we were there. Don't let that hold you back anyway. It's worth trying at least once.

I'm not sure why this place is rated low. The staff was very helpful with informing my family of 4 what is vegan. The food is delicious! We had to wait a long time and everyone was super hungry but it was worth waiting for. The burger buns weren't vegan so they put it on sliced bread without us even asking them to. I tried a vegetable sushi roll, hot sesame noodles, the chips and salsa, falafel wrap, and fries. All great! The wrap meal was huge! And only $7.95.

Nine Mile is currently my favorite place to eat and has been for a while. I fell in love the 1st time I ate there. From the little lamps on the table (during dinner) to their "His Majesty" salad dressing to the delicious dishes. They, without a doubt, serve the best tofu in Asheville. I cannot get enough of it. Combined with jerk seasoning and a big bowl of pasta and veggies, it's fabulous. The dinner meal begins with a small simple salad and even it tastes great. The hummus appetizer is great too, although a tad overpriced. Careful with the spice of your meal. They have gotten very heavy-handed with it before and it ruined my whole meal. If you're not a fan of spice or not sure how much is enough, start with mild and work your way up. Go with the pasta on any of the dishes. If you choose rice, you just don't get enough of it.

It was a cool experience getting to order vegan food from a hot bar. That was a first for me. The food my family and I ordered was "comfort food" and we were pleased. The breakfast sandwich was the highlight of our trip. Other delights were the breakfast potatoes, mac and cheese, sausage, and waffles. We liked everything.
The atmosphere was pleasant and all of the employees were really nice and helpful. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was quite attentive.
My only complaint is that the ordering/paying process was a little confusing. You have to go all the way to the back to get your food then to the front to pay and dine.

Oh, it's gooooood!
Plant has some of the best food I've ever had. You eat with your eyes first and all of the dishes deliver that aesthetically pleasing aspect. The next step: taste. Everything tastes so fresh and well-prepared. Every bite is an explosion of flavor! Some of the combinations sounded odd to me and ordering it was stepping a bit out of my comfort zone, but I'm so glad I did. I've been twice and each time I was pleased with the food. The servers are friendly and smiling. The restaurant is nice, clean, and open. I love the decor and the layout. It's bright and inviting.

One of the things I looked forward to the most while anxiously awaiting my Vegas trip was having a donut from Ronald's. It had been such a long time since my husband and I had eaten one and it was something we greatly enjoyed pre-veg. Well...Ronald's lived up to our expectations. We visited them twice during our short stay and even packed some in our suitcase to take home! There's plenty of choices, the prices are low, the people are great, and the donuts will not fail to please. I will be sure to stop again the next time I'm in Vegas. Go. You won't be sorry.

Good food but disappointed.
First the good: The food was AMAZING! Easily 5/5 stars. I got the breakfast burrito and I couldn't have been happier. The rest of my family ordered biscuits and gravy + pancakes. Everyone was more than satisfied with the taste and quantity. THEN.....we ordered desserts to go. The Cowvin Cookie (big sandwich cookie) is the best cookie I've ever had, easily. I went back the next day to get another. The brownie was pretty good and the devil's cake was really delicious. I'd get it again too.
The bad: My husband planned a DC birthday trip for me and Sticky Fingers was the much anticipated highlight. The food surpassed expectations. However, the overall dining experience was terrible. It's a small, cramped space full of loud people. I don't blame the restaurant for this particular part but the majority of the customers were rude and obnoxious. It was incredibly busy when we went and after walking several miles, I wanted to sit and dine in a nice, quiet place. Based on the HIGH prices, that's what I assumed we'd be getting.
I don't mind spending $80 on food for 4 people if we're having a great overall experience! But for counter-ordered food, waiting a while for a dirty table then sharing with strangers, and they were out of water, cups, napkins, and forks....it is way overpriced.
I could barely enjoy my food due to butts in my face (literally. The place was packed out with people in line to order) and the loud and uncomfortable environment.
When we left, I told my husband:

Tasty vegan options every day. And they change up often. Milkshakes, ice cream cones, banana splits, and more. The Hop sure does serve up a nice treat.

One of my favorite things to eat is vegan Chinese food. It has been 2 years since I have had some. This place reallllllly delivered. We ordered the firecracker soy protein, lo mein, drumsticks, and orange peel soy chicken. It was all fantastic. I really love the firecracker soy. The people who work their are very friendly and accommodating. Just ask what's vegan and they'll help you out. It's a small place but who cares with food like this. It is a bit pricy. It should be listed as at least $$.

I'm so happy to finally have vegan donuts in Asheville. And not just cake donuts (no, thanks). Vortex has plenty of flavor options to satisfy almost anyone. They even make a vegan apple fritter. The salted caramel is my go-to. It's not an overwhelming flavor that masks the donut taste but it's just right.

8 Thumbs Up
My family of 4 approves. We had the Hot Tofu sandwich, Philly cheese, buffalo chkn, spicy southwest burger, and pumpkin cheesecake. It was all very delicious. They were big! So we're all satisfied and full.
We will return when we visit Charlotte again.
