Vegan Oasis

We enjoyed everything we had. The Kitchari was delicious. I would also recommend the shehard's pie. It's cooked lentils, vegetable, with sweet potatoe on top then baked. We went again to the Santa Fe Annapurna's and it wasn't as good, but still good, so I guess it depends on the chef of the day.

Food was soggy and boring. I've been vegan for 40 years and my asian food is above and beyond this. What a diapointment. We won't be going back

Just OK

After reading other reviews I feel like we were at a different restaurant. We were sat at a table with bar stools, the wait person was sweet but not home if you know what I mean. We had to ask for water three times before we actually got some. The food was expensive. I wanted soup instead of salad and had to pay $2 extra to substitute for bland mush. My Jack fruit tacos were bland and tastless. My husbands pastrami sandwich was toasted white bread with some cabbage and a couple slices of meat sustitute. The lunch menu is mostly sandwiches of meat substitutes. Where are the veggies? I've been vegan for over 20 years and I am a good cook so yes I'm picky but it you read other reviews I've written they are mostly positive because I want vegan places to thrive. This is the only totally vegan place in town but for my money there are many much better choices.

don't rush over

Don't drive long distances to try this bakery. Tiny cupcakes that are dry and just OK cost $3.95 a piece. Same for little greasy donuts. I'd rather drive to Las Vegas for Ronald's vegan donuts that are inexpensive & yummy. The only good thing about this place is that they are vegan

Try the lasagna! Dinner menu is all vegan. Breakfast and lunch have vegan options. The tofu skillet with cashew cheese on the breakfast menu is very yummy. Excellent vegan bakery too. The owner is an inspiration of hard work trying to run a vegan restaurant ( mostly all organic) in a small town in a not so vegan world. Organic wine available.

all vegan

Tasty treats but not alot of choice. Looks like they mainly bake for restaurants and markets. We had the pound cake with pecan crumble. Very moist and yummy. They do catering for weddings etc. which is wonderful to find.

no vegies

I was so disappointed with this place. I arrived at a busy lunch hour, the owner was short with me. I asked for any dish with lots of veggies more than anything else. When the dish came I told the server he had the wrong table. All I saw was some beefy fake meat stuff and noodles. When he brought it to the owner he said it was the right dish and sent it back to me.He said the vegetables were on the bottom. I lifed the nnodles and saw a few pieces of iceberg lettuce and a few slices of raw zucchini. I left it untouched and paid for it. Never again and I don't think $11.00 for this is cheap. I'd give it one cow but the system won't let me.

Not too bad

We had brunch there today. Buckwheat pancakes with tempeh bacon and Cranberry French toast with potatoes. Both dishes were good not outrageous. French toast was better and had a beautiful presentation with strawberry and powdered sugar. I'd go again but not make a special trip to go there. I'd like to try their lunch food but wanted to try breakfast because there are so few vegan breakfast around.

not so yummy..............

We've eaten there for years, atleast 20. Long before there was any other like this in the valley. Consistantly good. I want to try everything but it's hard to get away from the best vegan Reuban. It's delicious and huge. It's made with tofu cottage for vegans and the rye bread is homemade. They have always had those dumb carrot chips with the sandwitches but oh well. Most everything can be made vegan and the staff is happy to help.

After writing this review I had to go back and get a Reuban sandwich. It's changed. No longer grilled and yummy but dry toast and not so yummy. I contacted them right away to find out about it and never got an email back. Maybe just not a good manager. I'll go back but it's not the same and not for the better and not for my Reuban.

I'm in love

We had the pesto pizza and it was wonderful. We came here after having a disappointing meal at Cha Ya so we didn't get to try alot. If the rest is as good as this we are in for a treat when we return to try other items off of the huge menu.

all vegan

Love that it's all vegan. Excellent choices, great service and prices. Everything I have had there has been very tasty. Their chai tea is just OK but the food is worth trying a variety of dishes.

great for not totally vegan

This place has a very large menu. Many dishes are already vegan and most can be made vegan. They also have a variety of teas. The portions are good and so far every time I've gone the service is friendly and timely. It's a good choice if you have a mixed group of non meat eaters and carnivores.

nice find

We went yesterday but didn't know it had been there for a whole year. We will be re visiting again I'm sure. Nice ambiance but the young women at the counter were a bit unfriendly when we asked about the food prep and peanut allergies. one repeated several times the food my husband ordered did not have peanuts, when we were asking about prep and to tell the chef not to cross contaminate. She ended by showing us the bottom of the menu which says they are not responsible....blah blah. Joi brought our order to us and totally made up for her staff. I had the " tuna ". The sandwich was tasty but the salad on the side had wilted lettuce in it. My husband had the greek bowl and enjoyed it very much. When we left Joi told us about special chef night once a month Tuesdays. Most important the food is good, priced well, and my husband didn't get sick from peanuts.

good food slow service

the title says it all. If your order off the menu it takes along time. Twice they had to run out to get their supplies from the store to make my sandwich. the deli looks good and from now on I will order from there because it's already made. It's crowded at lunch time so plan for that. They have vegan whole cakes to buy premade so that's a major plus because that's rare around here. Each cake serves 10 - 12 people. The chocolate is the best, then Lemon. I think they recommend you order the day before you need it.

Happy Vegan

We went there today and we're very pleased with the experience. The chicken nuggets were tasty. The green curry was excellent and the spicy mushroom OK good. Lots of brown rice and large portions of everything. Definitely would go again if in the area.

no longer vegan

Their vegan chef left 2 years ago. If you want vegan you need to let them know and they will try.

4600 W Spring Mountain Rd, Las Vegas, USA

never miss it

Always stop in for the best, not healthiest, vegan donut you've ever eaten. The place is famous. The poor guy at the counter has to listen to every gushing excited vegan customer and their story. They just smile and nod their heads. Very humble people. Every time I go I am never disappointed. It's hard to say a favorite but if I must I would say the raised donut with soy cream filling and chocolate topping. Next the apple turnover.

We went there today everything we had was great except for the Thai ice tea which was way too sweet. We shared the lentil Quesadillas and they were yummy and filling. My husband had the green curry and I had the signature pumkin curry. We both liked his better because it was spicier but mine was very flavorful and if I would have thought of it I would have asked to have it made spicier. We tried to get the tea less sweet but I don't htink they understood and added more tea to the milk but we think that made it sweeter. It wouldn't keep me from going again. Which I must say please go there. They had very little business and the waitress said they are usually slow. Oh no! We can't loose a good vegan restaurant.
