Awesome-- if you order the right stuff
California Vegan is generally good, but it's hit or miss. There's two of these that I know about, the one in Hollywood one is very casual, whereas the Santa Monica one is a little nicer. The Orange Chicken is really good, but the soy cheese is disgusting. Most of the stir fry dishes are really good, as are the soups. The tofu, in my opinion, is sliced a little thick. The ice cream is really yummy!

French Vegan Cuisine... mmm...
I really enjoyed the ambiance of Madeleine's when compared with the average Vegan restaurant in LA, which are mostly casual. I went there with my boyfriend and it was a perfect date atmostphere with the candles. I only ate there once, but thought it was wonderful & talked about it for months, I LOVED the banana split & so did my non-vegan boyfriend; although he didn't enjoy his entree which was some Asian tacos, which seems very strange anyway, since it's a French restaurant. I'd definitely go back, but only on a date, too romantic for an evening with friends, but probably during the day is a bit more casual.

Best Scrambled Tofu!!!
My favorite place to go for breakfast in all of LA, they have the best scrambled tofu and blueberry pancake dish! Also, for lunch the soy fried chicken sandwhich is very tasty and satisfying. I haven't had anything bad there, but be warned, their "cheesecake" is not cheesecake... it's like a poundcake, which is good, but not what you're expecting when you order the latter. The owners don't seem to be completely fluent in English, but are nevertheless very friendly and eager to please, and the service is fast. I am always so full when I leave too, the portions are quite large for the small price.

Thank you VegiTerranean for bringing wonderful food and a wonderful atmosphere to Akron, OH! My entire family, none of whom are vegans, LOVED everything! My dad, a self-proclaimed carnivore, loved the rissotto, my brother couldn't believe my chicken picatta was faux, he swore it was something I couldn't eat! I've been there a few times, and dinner is way fancier and has larger portions than lunch. I highly reccomend the artichoke appetizer! Servers have always been super friendly and accomodating. I'd be sure to make a reservation if you're planning on visiting, because they can get pretty busy and the firt time I went we didn't have one and it took about 45 min to get seated for lunch.
They are very friendly towards people with food allergies also, they have many wheat-free alternatives & ofcourse use no dairy or eggs. I'm definitely always going to plan a night here when I visit home.
