Good vegan cusine
We were impressed with the vegan menu and how the staff goes out of their way to accomodate vegan requests. Lots of good food, service is friendly.

Good Ethnic Cuisine
I read the other reviews and it almost seemed like I was in a different restaurant. We checked the place out last night, encountered very friendly staff, so we came for lunch today. In fairness, I suppose it is off season, but the staff was very helpful with suggestions and recommendations. Service was good, food was great, good sized servings. Never had West African cuisine, but enjoyed Ethiopian and East African food on several occasions. We will definitely return. Especially since there are not many vegan offerings in the French Quarter, this is a particularly good one.

Back to Buddha's
We had given up on Buddha's a couple of years ago. Inconsistent food quality, then a meat menu, spotty service and spotty hours. We were driving by, and thought we would give them another shot for lunch. What a surprise. The food was back to its old quality (delicious) and with the lunch specials, was fairly inexpensive. We tried it again the next week, and the same experience. We are now regulars again, and are loving our old favorites. A word of caution, we have not been back for dinner, so we have no idea how things are in the evening. But with the lunch specials every day, we may not even have to go back in the evening. If you haven't been there in a while, try it for lunch. It's great.

Amazing Indian Cuisine
We are pure vegan and went to try out a new restaurant recommended by an East Indian friend. The buffet was extensive, all vegetarian, and mostly vegan. No fine dining here, the plates and utensils are plastic. However, we came for the food and were not disappointed. The selection was amazing, and every dish we tried was a new taste sensation. Food of this quality would normally command 3 - 4 times the price. Fresh. Tasty. Big variety. Unquestionably the best Indian food we have ever tried, and as vegans, we have tried a lot. The price? Another surprise. $6.99 for the buffet, and that is for lunch or dinner. We have definitely added Apna Punjab to our favourite restaurants.

A Real Winner
The food is incredible. We went to the Sunday brunch, and were amazed. It is a fixed menu on Sundays but we are returning on a weekday to try the regular menu. The chef is a true artist so your meal looks like a piece of art as well as being delicious. Service in the restaurant section was great, super friendly. They do have service in the bar as well, but the restaurant is the side to sit. Good atmosphere and really friendly clients. We got to know several other patrons just over one meal. This should be on everbody's must try list.

Amazing Food, Drinks, Service
As Spain is not known for vegan food, we checked Happy Cow, and found Vegan Point. It is close to downtown, and not difficult to find with a map. It was recently opened by two guys from Italy, and the food and service is amazing. We were greeted at the door and invited in to a comfortable, modern decor setting. The chef makes everything from scratch, and uses local and organic ingredients where possible. We had the sampler plate on which everything was incredible. We then split a seitan with primavera sauce, something that even a carnivore would love. The desserts were as good as the rest, and we were happy to find a world class vegan restaurant in Alicante. The price for all of this was very reasonable. The owners speak a little English, so you can get by in English, Spanish, or Italian.

Authentic Mexican Vegan Options
When you step off the street it is like stepping into another country. This is like a typical Mexican cantina with homey service, fresh food, and latin atmosphere. There are very few vegan or vegetarian options on the menu, but try the platano fajitas. As well, the staff will customize almost anything on the menu to suit your requests. I have found this to be quite common in Latin countries, especially South America, but not so much here, where they prefer just to remove items as opposed to substitutions. As well, vegan food is hard to find in the French Quarter, so this is definitely a place to try. We ate here several times and were never disappointed.

More Amazing Thai/Vietnamese Vegan
Visiting Boston again, and we went to My Thai, but noticed Cuong's Vegan next door. Turns out it is run by the owners of My Thai, and it has to be some of the best takeout in Boston, if not anywhere. Curries, noodles, rices, fake meats, all vegan, all delicious. Have to try this one.

Amazing, Simply Amazing
What are you going to say about this place that hasn't already been said? Amazing food, great service, knowledgeable staff. Even when you raise the bar because you are in San Francisco, this place exceeds expectations. A must visit for anyone in the Bay area.

5 star Vegan Cuisine - But You Have To Ask
We stayed at the Grand Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta for two weeks in December. Great location, great service, but almost no vegan food. We met with Chef Marcos and General Manager Alberto Landero, explained the situation, and after that the meals were incredible. So, if you are a vegan, looking for an upscale resort in Puerto Vallarta, give this place a try, they will make it worth your while. I would recommend scheduling a meeting with a chef, or Food and Beverage Manager Martin Vazquez, and they will make sure the food is outstanding. We had many other guests ask what we were being served, so they could order it as well.

Pass This One By
Don't know how this even qualifies to be a veg restaurant. Most dishes have meat, and vegan alternatives are almost non existent. We found the staff to be neither vegetarian or knowledgeable. Expensive food, barely passable. We had the equivalent of a small pancake and 2 tiny collard green sandwiches. And the bill? THIRTY DOLLARS???!!! Save your money and your time. With a little more checking (on Happy Cow) we found many better alternatives. If you have a choice, you do NOT want to eat here.

From one extreme to the other...
We stopped in on Friday night (Oct 19) and had an incredible dining experience. Great food, great service. Reminded me of the Michelin 3 diamond awards which means the restaurant is worth making a special trip to visit. We returned the following Saturday afternoon (Oct 27) hoping for a repeat experience, and wondered if we were in the same place. The waitress who had provided the amazing service a week ago, was bossy, authoritative and prickly, as well as providing the bare minimum of service. Oh well, we thought, there will still be amazing food. Well, we WERE amazed. Although one of our items was still delicious, the rest were barely okay. When we paid the bill, we were asked how things were, and we recounted our experience. We got a brusque "Sorry" and he went on to the next customer. We left feeling a bit like the restaurant had a split personality disorder. After reading some of the other reviews, I can see we weren't the only ones. Well, on to the ratings. 5 cows for the first visit, 1 for the second, works out to an average of 3 cows. Should we go back? Still undecided.

Back to Herbivore
Had a bad experience at the Berkeley Herbivore, bad food, bad service, careless staff, so when someone told us to try the Mission Herbivore, we mentioned what happened in Berkeley. She said she eats here all the time, and it is always excellent. We weren't disappointed. Great staff, great service, and the food was incredible.

Great Food, Great Service
I can't believe how no one has reviewed this restaurant yet. We are pure vegan, and the selection and food quality here is amazing. We always come for the lunch buffet. I would recommend any new visitors to check it out first, so you can get a taste of everything. The service is great, the staff is friendly and helpful with the food selections (as they are not all vegan.) If you are looking for a new taste experience or if you like ethnic food, this place is indeed a gem. Never had to wait for a table, so that is good if you are pressed for time. Take as long or as little time as you like, there is never any pressure.

Amazing Pure Vegan
We live in Calgary Alberta and whenever we are in the area we always eat here. The food is delicious, the menu is extensive, and the staff is friendly and accomodating. I would like to move this restaurant and staff to Calgary.

We were looking for a new Indian restaurant, as so many have mostly meat dishes, and of course, put dairy in most of their veg dishes. I read the review by librarypunk, and thought we should give it a try. Friendly staff, great food, and although small, we were not crowded, and enjoyed the meal. We will be back. By the way, if you can't find the place, (took us a while) keep looking, it was worth it. And S I Foods, means South Indian Foods. Try that if you can't find S I Foods.

Great cafeteria with vegan goodies
A wonderful place to stop for a juice or a coffee. They have all the snacks so you could have a light breakfast or lunch as well. They assured us everything was vegan, so we tried a cross sampling and everything was delicious.
WARNING: ALTHOUGH ALL THE FOOD IS VEGAN, THEY HAVE A TAKEOUT COFFEE, AND IF YOU DON'T SPECIFY SOY MILK IN YOUR LATTE OR CAPPUCCINO, YOU MAY END UP WITH DAIRY MILK. (WE DID, BUT THEY WERE HAPPY TO REPLACE IT)
