Thank Goodness for VEGAN options on Long Island

I visit this location at least once a month, if not more. I am vegan along with my mother and 20 month old son. My husband is a MEAT-EATER! (GASP!)

So this place has an entire regular italian menu and an entire vegan menu with lots of gluten-free options. My uncle stops here for regular slices all the time and likes it a lot. They also have vegan slices and we get slices to go anytime we drive by here on the way home. Vegan brunch on weekends. its great!

Here's the vegan stuff I've tried so far:
zucchini sticks: too much breading but ok
eggplant rollatini: freaking ridiculously amazing. This is my go-to dish. its the BEST!
lasagne: eh, a little mushy wit lots of veg and the sauce is great. Prob wouldn't order this again.
Bianca pizza: another favorite. has spinach. I LOVE it.
gluten free pizza crust: thin and it has been overcooked before. I would go for the reg thin crust if you are able to have gluten.
Gluten free pasta: pretty good. Tastes close to the original
Mac and Cheese: baby loved it
Penne Alla vodka: O.M.G. good.
Grandma Pizza: yum
BBQ pizza: yes please. thank you.
French toast: baby loved it
pancakes: better than I can make at home.

The service is hit or miss, but thats not a dealbreaker for me. I always call ahead if we have more than 2 people because the place is SUPER small and many times there are large parties taking up multiple tables.

Go HERE. Its worth it!! We will be back! Woohoo!!!

was in town fro NY visiting my family for Easter. I usually cook at least one dish for the buffet so i have something to eat in the sea of meat eaters (My mom and I are vegan and my sister, brother-in-law and niece are vegetarian) but I didn't have time to get it together. I ended up ordering a vegan lasagne, roasted veggies and some soup from the cafe. They were so fantastic that I plan to order again when I return this week. I have to say that the lasagne was GONE (i was bummed) cause everyone was trying it and loved it (Even my non-veg aunts and uncles. Everyone was raving about it. OH! and I ordered a dozen gluten-free vegan cupcakes. You were right Brooke. They were better than the carrot cake at Babycakes NYC!!! I wanted to rate it 5 stars but Happy cow wont let me.

Woohoo vegan burgers!!!

The veggie burger #2 is vegan, and delicious to boot! (Veggie burger #1 has cheese and my sister said its good, and the beef patties are organic) You can get it on a bun or wrapped in lettuce. I love the caramelized onions and mushrooms on top! The fries are just average and they do not have BBQ sauce so those bummed me out a little but wouldn't stop me from returning. They have lots of buy one-get one specials (college students, teachers, etc) and my vegan baby loves the food so we are sold and will be back!

Yum yum yum!

Visited for lunch with my vegan friend and we really enjoyed our meal! I got the tempeh with the avocado salad and she got the thai tofu. We both thought ours was the best! The price was reasonable and the atmosphere was chill. The server was helpful and attentive but not annoying. We will def return if we are in the area!

We tried a couple of time to visit this restaurant but it was closed (darn siesta time)
We finally made it (I would recommend making a reservation at dinner time, even on weekdays) and it was well worth it. My mom and I are vegan and my husband and father love meat and potatoes. It was fantastic for both! I had the pumpkin soup. yum!!! [edit by staff] They needed cooler air conditioning in he summer, but it was cooler in the back. Request to sit there instead of in the front room. I would definitely visit here again!

Wonderful selection and prices

We visited this location of the Italian health food store. They had a great selection and the prices were great.many things to chose from in regards to gluten-free and vegan food. I had happycow update the location so hopefully you will be able to find it!

Excellent selection

This place was a life saver for me. I'm vegan, gluten-fre, sugar-free e and pregnant and this little store was just a short walk from our hotel (Pensione Guerrato, it was fantastic and inexpensive) They had everything I needed for breakfast and snacks and would have been even better if I had a kitchen. We ended up going there 2 or 3 times over the 4 days we were in Venice.

Very expensive but good selection

They usually have what I need and do carry the normal and obscure items you would find in a larger health food store. (Whipped non-dairy topping, organic baby food, dried bulk items, vegan cookies/chips, local items, beauty items and vitamins) They are helpful and will locate an item over the phone. It's the closest to my house so I will continue shopping there for things I cannot find at my normal grocery store but they Are expensive, even compared to whole foods.

Vegan options, most soy/wheat gluten

I've tried a few dishes here over the years, and they have been tasty. I wish they offered more vegan items that did not include fake meat. (Tofu, seitan, etc) if you like that kind of stuff, you will love it here. I try to eat more whole foods so I only go here occasionally. But still glad to have this open close to home.

a little vegan dissapointed... :(

This place was beautiful. After a long walk to get there, we found out that most of this things in the place were not vegan. LOTS of vegetarian stuff though. The only truly vegan things were the dark chocolate bars and the sorbet. The sorbet was delicious though! If you are vegetarian, you'll be in heaven!
