Best vegan selection

27 Jun 2016

While vacationing in the Myrtle Beach area, my wife and I stopped to dine here many times. They have a huge selection of vegan offerings, much more than any other location in the area. The food was very good and the staff was friendly.

Good place for a light breakfast/lunch or snack

18 Aug 2010

The staff knows which items are vegan and which are not and are friendly and eager to help. Having said that, almost all of the bagels are vegan, and you can get great toppings like fresh veggies, hummus, tofu, pb&j, and what's listed as avocado (really guacamole). I've had vegan soups there as well. Great place to go when you're on the road and need a light breakfast/lunch or a snack.

Decent vegan options

20 Apr 2011

The atmosphere is like a Florida beach shack with a bar. Inside and outside seating available. Many things on the menu can be made vegan through subsitutions, but it's much easier if you just ask for the vegan menu when you get there. It's got the entrees on there with the substitutions already laid out to make them vegan and there are quite a few tasty options. The best thing on the menu though is the blackened tofu sandwich (so delicious!) which comes with vegan tartar sauce and coleslaw. I find this is a great go to place to grab a bite to eat with my non-veg friends since everyone can get what they like without making a big deal of it.

Mind the grill

02 Sep 2010

This is basically a deli with a small grill. They have quite a few vegan options for hot sandwiches, but the seperation of meat and veg meat on the grill is inadequate. Having said that, they do offer two non-grilled vegan sandwiches which are extremely tasty and a good value. They make the food really fast, so if you're on a tight time schedule this is a perfect place to grab a quick bite to eat. They also have an assortment of pre-packaged vegan cookies and a good drink selection.

Outstanding vegan soul food

18 Aug 2010

This place is an all vegan hole-in-the-wall style soul food restaurant. They have a hot bar with an always great selection, but the real treat is their huge variety of hot vegan sandwiches. Absolutely killer. The sandwiches (and smoothies) can really take awhile if you order it there, so I'd suggest calling ahead unless you just want to order from the hot bar.

I've eaten at Toscana Grill about five times thus far and every time it has taken an undue amount of effort to ensure that they're actually giving me the vegan versions of what I ordered as vegan, especially with the vegan soy cheese. Expect to send at least one thing back to the kichen when you eat there. There's obviously some sort of miscommunication going on between the wait staff and the kitchen. Honestly they've gotten better since they opened (the first week was a TOTAL disaster), but I can't think of another restaurant that I would characterize as being distinctively unreliable.

After all the hassle and you get what you ordered, the food is decent, but pricey. If they changed their menu to all vegan I would consider going there for lunch regularly as it's close to my work, but as it is, I don't have enough time to eat there when I know I will always have to send things back to the kitchen.

The food here is really good. Excellent vegan mock-meat and veggie dishes. The portions are extremely large. You will be full, oh yes, you will be full. Also the cakes are delicious!

Great asset to Orlando

27 Apr 2011

My wife and I are both vegan, and we ate at Ethos many times over our last Orlando vacation for several dinners and one brunch. The atmosphere was relaxing, the food was really delicious, especially after a long day in the parks, and they even had some tasty vegan cookies that we brought back to the hotel. I really liked their specials and the variety was great. Our brunch was also fantastic. I had the apple flap jacks and they were done to perfection. I'm definitely looking forward to dining at Ethos again on our next Orlando vacation.

Best vegan restaurant in the whole world!!!!

18 Aug 2010

This place is so good I don't even know where to begin. The decor is fantastic. The staff is friendly. From the apps to the desserts everything is absolutely delicious. They serve brunch, lunch, and dinner, with different menus for each, and they have an ample amount of specials that change out every couple weeks to keep it interesting. Some of the nicest staff at any restaurant as well. Always pleasant and helpful! Make sure to save room for dessert, especially their famous carrot cake!

This place is in a strip mall called the Conscious Corner in which there is also a really great natural foods store, pet food/supplies store, and natural boutique. My wife and I absolutely love this restaurant, but it's quite far from us (over an hour). Even so, we find it very convenient to go at least once a month since we can also do our grocery shopping etc.. there as well and get some great products just next door.

My wife and I (both vegan) have eaten here at least a dozen times over the last few years, and it's a 2 hour drive for us. The people are very friendly and the atmosphere is great. The veggie burgers and vegan chicken are homemade and especially delicious. The chicken is spongy and I could see how some people wouldn't like it but personally I think it's fantastic. The chili is exceptionally good and is served with sliced jalapeno on top. They used to serve polenta fries which were to die for but unfortunately stopped serving those about a year ago. Many dishes on the menu have vegan or vegetarian versions.

Best Vegan Breakfast

23 Jun 2016

Ask for the healthy menu. It has all the vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. The vegan silver dollar blueberry pancakes are amazing. It's not on the menu, but you can ask for a side of vegan sausage.

Best vegan sandwiches in the area

17 Aug 2010

The inside of this place looks like a converted tex mex restaurant, but don't let that fool you. Although this is mainly a vegan asian food restaurant, they have several vegan sandwiches and vegan American style food on the menu (veggie burger, turkey club, fried fish, tempeh, tofu burger) as well as things like fries, chicken nuggets, etc.. and they are all absolutely amazing. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious, the only thing to watch out for is that they make everything as soon as you order it and bring it out as soon as it's done. As a result you tend to get everything at once: appetizers, entrees, soups, salads.. and it can overwhelm the table. The kitchen is extremely fast, so I recommend ordering your appetizers/soups when you sit down, and then order your entrees as soon as the apps get to the table.

So, I've been to the Loving Hut at least half a dozen times now and tried a lot of things. While the selection is somewhat limited, everything is delicious, and it seems like they are already expanding their offerings. The Loving Hut is part of a chain and the other location I've been to (Orlando) had a huge menu so I'm hoping they get to that point as well.
As they are a new restaurant, they are still in the process of figuring it all out, so don't expect a restaurant that runs like a well-oiled machine just yet. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the delicious (and very affordable) vegan treats. Absolutely everything on the menu is fresh and delicious, especially the soups!

Excellent Food

27 Jun 2016

This restaurant is located in a tiny strip mall and looks unassuming, but inside the atmosphere is cozy, the food is incredible, and the staff is extremely friendly. The falafel is some of the best I have had, and the best meal I've had while vacationing at Myrtle Beach.

While this restaurant doesn't have a dedicated vegetarian/vegan section on the menu (yet), it has many options for vegetarians and a couple for vegans. The food definitely has a good home cooked vibe to it, and they are happy to accommodate dietary needs if you want to customize something.

A Life Saver

27 Apr 2011

My wife and I (and several of our friends) went to this restaurant every day during the PAX East convention, as we are vegan and the free lunch trolly stopped very close by. This place was a real life saver during the con. We tried many of the lunch specials and everything was always delicious. The desserts and bubble teas were also delightful. Our friends (who were not vegan) were also very pleased with the food. I know for next year's con we will definitely be coming back to this restaurant for sure. The only thing to be mindful of is that the entrance is a little shady looking, but once you get up to the second floor the decor is nice and relaxing. They were very friendly and understanding of our shuttle schedule to get back to the con, and brought our food quickly every time.

Absolutely delightful grocery store with a great selection of fresh veggies, vegan essentials like cheeses and mock-meats, premade vegan meals, vegan desserts, lots of raw foods, and an excellent selection of natural cleaning supplies.

Absolutely amazing!

17 Aug 2010

My wife and I are both vegan and we stopped here several times on our vacation to the Asheville area. We had some of the best vegan meals we've had anywhere at Rosetta's. The staff was extremely friendly and you could tell the food was really made fresh and with care. Everything was absolutely delicious. My only regret was that our vacation wasn't longer just so we could have enjoyed one more meal at Rosetta's.

Friendly people delicious food

Smyrna is a fantastic place to eat. The owner and his wife are very friendly and knowledgeable about vegetarian and vegan diets. The menu is clearly-labeled and has tons of vegetarian and vegan options. I tried a combo platter and loved it. The veggie kofte was absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend it. This restaurant is a real gem and should not be missed if you are in the area.
