Really good!

30 May 2013

I had the Buddha pizza - the curry sauce was a bit too spicy for me, but otherwise it was great. They didn't cheap out on the Daiya cheese, and the toppings went all the way to the edge - woo hoo! The cashews were really good, too. I'll be back! (and next time I'll do what the owner suggests and ask that a separate pizza cutter be used...that should standard practice, tho, IMHO.)

What can I say that hasn't already been said? I'm from out of town and saw Boon Burger featured on You've Gotta Eat Here...and you do!! Had the Thanksgiving Burger and mushroom soup, which were both excellent. Can't say enough good things about a place vegans can go to where they don't have to quiz the server about what is and isn't in their food. Just great!

I've eaten here a few times, and the food is good (actually, their veggie ginger beef is amazing), but the service is adequate at best, and they charge for water!!! I just asked for some hot water to drink and they charged $1.50.

Someone posted that because they serve shark fin soup he/she won't be going back, but the menu says they use mock meat - so don't let that keep you from going.

Really good food...even my non-veg DH loved it.

If you like beets, you'll love the veggie burger!

I, however, detest beets...and i didn't know the ingredients until speaking with the owner, after i had ordered. But anyhow, the burger itself is moist, has a definite "beet-y" flavour and falls apart very easily, so i was given a fork along with my order. The owner said she was working on getting a vegan cheese (which might help hold the burger together a bit), so kudos to her for at least making the effort to provide vegans with a food-court option.

Went to Edibles at Winderberry and they didn't have anything for me (a vegan) to eat. So we went to the Blue Dog Cafe in Invermere, which was VERY good. Blue Dog isn't purely veg, but they do have several vegan and vegetarian offerings.

Really good pizza - and they don't charge extra for Daiya! (at least they didn't when I was there...)

Just great...my s/o, who is an omni-transitioning-to-vegan wasn't convinced that vegan food could be flavourful. This place change his mind!

Soooo good!

I always order the vermicelli bun - it is SO good. And the owner is so sweet.

We ate here a couple weeks ago - it was so nice not having to worry about everything being vegan (just ask for no eggs in the dishes you order). The only complaint is portion sizes. I always expect to have leftovers to take home, but we ate everything because the portions were small.

It was OK

I had the loaded veggie poutine - it wasn't anything outstanding, but certainly not terrible. What I can't stand, though, is when restaurants charge extra for Daiya cheese. I mean, come on, it's not like everyone is beating down the door in a quest for non-dairy cheese. Every non-veg I know wouldn't touch the stuff. So would it really be so hard to throw a bone to us Daiya eaters and include it in the prices? There, I've ranted.

My hubby and I dined here last month and it was really good! Embarassingly, I can't remember what we had, but it left me feeling warm and fuzzy!
