- About:
- I have been vegetarian since 1992 and vegan since 1994. I have cooked professionally and this means that I am very fussy when eating out. I organised a vegan social club in Melbourne, Australia between 2003 and 2008.

More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
It is not the case that I prefer to eat vegan; I prefer to live vegan. Being a vegan is a lifestyle choice. It means that I do not harm other living things intentionally, whether for my food, clothing, or toiletries. There are many other benefits to being vegan, such as good health and reducing my impact on the environment.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
What a wonderful way to share information about the important topic of 'where can I go out to eat veg food?' I came across this problem many times in my younger days. Since the advent of the internet, search engines, and most importantly, Happy Cow, finding a spot to eat has never been easier.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
Penang is an amazing place for lovers of meat-free Asian cuisine (though you must enjoy mock-meat). I would love to visit NYC and LA, as these places seem to have the widest range of meat-free eateries.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
I love well-cooked tempeh and sauerkraut, though not necessarily combined! I once tried a heap of ice-cream at the old Swedish Glace factory in Ahus, Sweden (before Unilever bought them out). That was an amazing afternoon!!!
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
