More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

Mainly because of my ethical views on animal consumption and also work ethics for people employed in the agriculture business in developing countries. That aside, the environmental benefits of being vegan are also very important to me, as I try to leave as little environmental impact as I can.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I want to support initiatives made by restaurants and shops that are providing (or want to) veg options. I also want to help veggie travelers and people new to the movement to easily figure out the options available to them. I think HappyCow is an amazing concept, and I have found many great places for eating out and shopping all thanks to this website's listings and community reviews.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

Half of my family are natives to Hawaii, and I've been to Maui to visit multiple times. Every time has been amazing, and the island is incredibly beautiful. I also visited Turkey a couple of years back on a trip along the south-western coast. The nature and history I got to see there was so rich, and I'd love to go back sometime. I also went to the famously vegan friendly Germany with friends for a few days. Found awesome foods and met some amazing people. Out of the many places I'd love to see one day, some would be Greece, England, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Mexico, Singapore, China, South Korea and Japan.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Everything avocado-y, tortillas, tacos, empenadas, burritos, fajita, tapas, paella, all sorts of Italian pasta dishes, Mediterranean snacks, Morrocan style couscous, sushi, Danish style luxury-"smørrebrød", samosas. Thai Curries, Thai style noodles and... Yeah, pretty much everything! :)

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

Seein as many HappyCows members share a fondness for everything green, I guess the things I've read/seen and enjoyed should fall into this category... So yeah, I don't really know... Unless you have only recently gone vegan, then I'd recommend books such as "Skinny Bitch" and movies like "Forks Over Knives" and "Earthlings".
