I know many fellow vegans will frown, but I'm a sucker for the amazing art of Asian mock meats. Just the fact that it's possible. That I can surprise a hard-core omni with a familiar texture and taste and whilst him know and experience there is no animal in it. I choose not to eat meat but I admit it is harder for me than abstaining from other drugs such as alcohol, nicotine or sugar etc by far. So occasional mock-meat-"methadone"-treatment helps by allowing for familiar taste and texture experiences. It is a learned dependency, yes, but a tough one to go.
