More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I love whole foods that are grown in the ground more for taste than anything else. I have really strong taste buds that command great tasting things! These types of foods also tend to give me more energy throughout the day and leave me in a better position to practice my yoga first thing in the morning. Almost nothing compares to the taste of a grilled portabella mushroom burger and a glass of red wine on the deck overlooking a beautiful sunset!

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

Like most of us, I gravitate to people who share some common ground. I enjoy reading the reviews and hope to visit some of the spots in my future travels. The information seems to be accurate and reliable. Nothing sucks worst than making the effort to try out an eatery just to discover that in doing so you were turned off by the whole experience by the end of the evening. With just a little research one can break through such barriers and streamline the process.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

I have travelled through 9 different countries. From the far East to the far West. I have eaten at local spots from Honduras to Alaska, but have to say that you can have your cake and eat it too back here in the good old US of A. And in most instances, I have found it to be more sanitary. The only thing you sacrifice is the experience of enjoying it in a whole new part of the world that most will never have the occasion or take the risk in travelling to.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Mushrooms.....anything green especially asparagus, artichoke hearts, edimame & advocados. I love hot - sweet fusion foods in a wok! I am also partial to mediteranian & southern Italian cooking. My brother is a restaurant owner and executive chef who enjoys great tasting vegitables also. You can find many tasty dishes on his menue. Check his web site out @ www.starvingartistcafe.net

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

I enjoy informative "whistle blower" books that expose the truths behind the masses, but tend to have mostly travel and Dwell type magazines in my home. As for music interests...I enjoy today's sound systems more than any one particular genre of music. I do seem to gravitate towards island music and cool trans music. I must confess though that I am truely a complex man with many interests. I guess it all depends on the situation, setting, mood and of course the company.
