More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I'm following a vegan diet mostly health related reasons. While being compassionate about animals is important to me, I still haven't gone entirely vegan in my lifestyle. Finding shoes in size 16 is hard enough! Without leather? I'm still looking for good alternatives.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I found the site in 2012 while looking for restaurants in Denmark and Sweden. Seems like we have more choices here in California!
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I really love traveling. I like to shoot for 95% vegan, and definitely spend the 5% when on the road. I've only been vegan since summer 2012, so the only trip outside the country has been Denmark and Sweden - not really vegan friendly. Trips to NYC and Austin TX, though, have yielded plenty of options.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Getting really sick of tofu! Anything macro-biotic is more my style.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Veg-news has some good recipes, though they tend to be complicated. Grills Gone Vegan is good so far, and my favorite cookbook is The Voluptuous Vegan.
