More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I believe all animals are here for their own purposes and are not to be used as a commodity for humans in any way.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I find HappyCow an invaluable resource when travelling interstate or overseas, but also locally. It assists in dispelling the myth that Vegans will go hungry if they attempt to dine out.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
The Lentil as Anything chain of *pay as you feel* eateries are a must visit in Melbourne (and more recently Sydney), Australia. They are staffed mostly by volunteers, the atmosphere is casual, but the standard of the food is pleasingly high. http://lentilasanything.com/
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
I enjoy a variety of different cuisines and find the motto "Anything you can eat, I can eat vegan' rings true.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
"Eating Animals" by Jonathan Safran Foer was an early eye opener for me. I recommend "Earthlings", "Cowspiracy" and "Lucent" as essential viewing for those who wish to learn more about the plight of animals and the associated environmental impact.
