Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

Eating Vegan is one of the best decisions I've ever made. There are many social, ethical, environmental, and political reasons to eat vegan and many other folks have spelled them out far more eloquently than I can. However, I'll say I wish so many people not willfully ignore information on where our factory meat comes from or choose to do nothing once they do know. It's disgusting, wasteful, and cruel.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

Vegans have to stick together and help the community navigate our options. It's a great place to find out about a place just down the street or know what your options are on the other side of the planet.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Reuben sandwiches- I never ate them as a meat-eater, but, damn are they great for vegans. Nachos - I've been impressed with the many creative ways Nachos can be done. RFD and Sage in LA are my favorites. Pizza - It never stops being a favorite food. Especially the deep dish from Masa of Echo Park. DONUTS - I mean, come on, right? Check out Donut Friend in LA. Unbelievably good.

I'm a fan of: VegNews, Laika, Forks Over Knives, The Vegan Slow Cooker, Oh She Glows, Thug Cookbook, Engine 2, Isa Chandra and more that I can't think of at the moment.
