More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I love animals so much I can't stand the thought of their suffering so I can have a piece of meat on my plate. It helps me to sleep with a clear conscience, plus my health is the best it's ever been. A quote from the Buddha Siddhartha Guatama (When a man has pity on all living creatures, then only is he noble. Gemini

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I joined because of the immesurable opportunities to communicate with other like souls. Thunder Bay is a beautiful community, however there isn't much to choose from in the way of vegan food, eg.cheese, whipped toppings etc. It's just nice to know there is someone out there to talk to. I just emailed Safewaysand put in a plea to carry some vegan friendly food.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

There's a sleepy little fishing village down the coast from Puerto Vallarta called Yelapa. I've spent many happy winters there just hanging out. Would love to go back one day. For the future I could easily see myself on a safari in Africa.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

I love soup, and just happen to make a wicked potfull of all kinds. My partner loves my minnestroni, and my desserts, and my salads ah heck he just loves everything I make. I've heard that you can get blue cheese, I wish I could get some. If anybody knows of a good vegan food distributor in Ontario, Canada let me know please.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

A book that I am now reading is a gem, it's called The Pig Who Sang to the Moon If a meateater with a conscience were to read this book, I bet he'd never be able to look at meat the same way again.
