More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I believe in the right of animals to live without being killed by humans, so my veganism is a response to this.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

To share reviews of the many places I've visited, and add new places that I found that weren't on Happy Cow.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

Some of my favourite places: Edinburgh, Paris, Sydney, Melbourne, Stockholm, Kyoto, Venice, Turin, Leiden, Heldelberg, Leipzig Places I'd like to visit: Portland, San Francisco, Rejkjavik, Istanbul, Beijing

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Too many! I enjoy vegan meat and dairy analogues when I eat out, but most of my favourite dishes have been traditional regional foods - Italian pizzas and pastas, vegetarian Indian and Chinese cuisine.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

Carol Adams' 'The Sexual Politics of Meat' - great book about Feminism and veganism; The Ghosts in Our Machine - Good documentary about the often unseen Australian animal food industry; And some vegan-themed sci-fi I've read recently: Under the Skin by Michel Faber, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick
