Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I'm diabetic (type 2) and want to lower my cholesterol and blood pressure, as well as maintain a healthier weight.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Artichokes, olives and olive oil, asparagus, mangoes, spinach, berries of all kinds, coconut milk ice cream, heirloom tomatoes, peas, almond milk, mushrooms, avocados, pecans, sunflower seeds, figs, Morningstar Farms Riblets.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Vegetarian Times (magazine), Serious Eats (blog), Saveur (magazine), Sundays at Moosewood Restaurant (cookbook).
