More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I was vegetarian for 10 years and my consuming dairy products made me very sick so I had to stop. I love animals and I refuse to contribute to the cruel needless suffering. Consuming dairy is unnecessary and unhealthy. I love being vegan and I am for life.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I joined HappyCow because I love meeting new like minded friends who share my passion for a healthy compassionate vegan lifestyle. I'm very thankful to be here and I look forward to meeting new wonderful friends.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
Hmmm, I'll get back to this one. But I will add that I visited Hawaii 15 years ago, I'd love to return when it's less commercial and less populated...it needs much less western world toxic energy. I would like to visit the UK, Australia.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Long list, but here is the gist...I love avocados, potatoes, apples, oranges, Tofurky, onions, garlic, many herbs. I'm a food artisan vegan cook so this list is very long, as I love to cook delicious healthy vegan meals.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
I lovingly recommend Dr. Michael Klaper's "Vegan Nutrition, Pure and Simple," Jethro Kloss' "Back to Eden," and John Robbins' book, "Diet For A New America," but I lovingly advise caution for sensitive people who are uncomfortable with graphic images depicting the cruel factory farming industry. It's truthful, but it's a shocking eye opener. I didn't read all of it, mostly skimmed, and the most important message to me is that animals are kind, loving, affectionate, and intelligent, and can be wonderful friends in our life, as long as we are loving, kind, caring, and treat them with love, kindness, care, and respect, the same way we want to be treated.
