- Tinkerer of electronics, image processing, fine artist, and big fan of sustainable, off-grid, natural material housing such as cob, Earthships, and papercrete. Working on physics number-crunching at Univ. of Central Florida in Orlando - a land of big chain conventionality!

More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
no answer yet
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
Upon arriving in Orlando Florida, I saw endless bland cardboardy houses, big chain stores, nothing with character or personality. And no veg-oriented places to eat, and no microbrews, and no charming coffee shops (well one, but it closed) and basically no interest among the natives for vegetarianism. Needed connection with other vegitarians (or flexitarians) and info about this area.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
In Orlando, Dandelion is a wonderful though tiny spot of joy in a huge bland city. Best whole city, so far among places I've actually lived: Boulder. Would like to explore the southwest, esp. Arizona and NM, and San Diego and Portland OR.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Yogurt with fresh blueberries, bananas and apricots. Lentil soup. Anything one can get at Earthen Jar in Ann Arbor.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
