- I've been vegan since 2007, although I personally don't know anyone else who is. I got fed up with the environmental impacts of modern animal product production, and later became equally upset about the cruelty involved. I figured being a vegan is something I can do with my dollars and by my example to others for the sake of my children and my planet. Now I realize that there are also compelling heath reasons as well. It's a no brainer to be vegan for my now, although sometimes it's hard in a non-vegan community.
