More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I'm not a human supremacist, so I find the mistreatment of animals (including humans) illogical and unfair. Of course the large scale confinement and killing of animals for food is a disaster for human health, the environment, efforts to feed the hungry, and of course the animals being killed. I call myself a 99% vegan who cares deeply for all sentient beings, including humans. I fully understand that half the world (people living in abject poverty and in war zones) do not have the option to become vegan, but I encourage all who do to at least move toward a vegan diet.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
To share information, thoughts and ideas, and learn.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I love the mountains, deserts, forests, prairies, lakes, streams, rivers, oceans.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Apricots, peaches, papaya, mangoes, Prairie Spy apples, most varieties of citrus fruits, and all varieties of berries and melons. Tomatoes, peppers, all varieties of squash, most greens, and all cruciferous vegetables. Most edible roots and tubers. A variety of flowers. Countless nuts and seeds. Thirty species of mushrooms. Dozens of herbs, especially Oregano, Turmeric, Thyme, Cumin. Coriander, Cardamom, Rosemary, Cinnamon, Dill, Ginger, Mustard, Saffron and Savory.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Among the several thousand books I've read, my favorites include: When Elephants Weep - Jeffrey Moussant Masson; An Unnatural Order - Jim Mason; The Chalice & the Blade - Riane Eisler; Intimate Nature - Linda Hogan; Natural Atheism - David Eller; Second Nature - Jonathan Balcombe; Women Without Superstition - a Compendium ...an extensive list can be found at my website. My all-time favorite television series is "A Planet For the Taking" by David Suzuki. I once had the complete set, but loaned them out and never saw them again. It was taken off the market years ago, apparently because it challenged the abuse of sentient beings, and is very hard to find.

Hello sorry I wasn't able to reply. And yeah couldn't find how I could write back. Thank you for replying to me. I showed my mum and nana a YouTube video for family. Still havnt said anything to the other family member. I think I'll make sure to pack food for my daughter and avoid confrontation. I also did mention some studies done by the WHO. I just would really like my daughter not to get diseases but my family are in denial. It's sad but I can't control them. I'm going to a vegan festival soon so can meet some like minded people that'll be nice. Thank you for your advice and hope you are well. Take care X
