More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I hate being asked this by meat-eaters as they always want to enter into a debate that I don't feel I need or want to have! But I don't mind sharing with you guys. I used to date a farmer and saw that the 'happy cows' in his field would often end up in his freezer! But, even as a child, I was never comfortable eating flesh and that experience put the tin hat on it for me.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

My partner & I like to travel and are constantly looking for veggie places which are, inevitably, closed down as the guide books can be out of date. This site was recommended to us by those nice people at Greens, SF.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

San Francisco is the dream destination that I've have recently returned from. I would like to visit North Africa and Australia too.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Marinated tofu, anything Quorn, (especially Quorn Mini Savoury Eggs), Linda McCartney sausages are divine, olives, Halloumi, Feta, rocket leaves, Bombay Mix, brussel sprouts, cabbage, potato, eggs, giardiniera pizza, asparagus...

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

Tales of the City is a very good series of books, also The Host and The Ballad of Lee Cotton are all good books if you like to suspend your disbelief.
