More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I have never liked the taste of meat, and have been a vegetarian as long as I can remember. I prefer to eat vegan because I feel my best physically, and because I feel it's environmentally friendly. And, it's just delicious!

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I live on a small island, and there isn't much of a vegan community here. HappyCow is a good way to connect with others, and to keep up with new restaurants, news, and recipes.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

I really like the desert southwest. I love hiking and camping in southern Utah. Yellowstone was also one of my favorite places to visit. I enjoy seeing the National Parks, or any place where you can surround yourself in the beauty of nature. Places I would like to visit: New Zealand, Bali, India, Palau, I could go on and on... there are just too many places to list here!!

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

smoothies, green juices, stuffed mushrooms, cashew cream, almond butter, avocados, sprouts, just about anything - especially creative raw foods.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

Books: "The Omnivore's Dilemma" and "Food Rules" by Michael Pollan "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life" by Barbara Kingsolver "Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal" by Eric Schlosser Movies: Food Matters, Vegucated, Forks over Knives, Supersize Me, Food Inc., Magazines: VegNews, Vegetarian Times, Mother Earth News,
