Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I'm vegan because I love and respect animals. Take just one animal - the cow - for example. When you think of how much the cow gives to humans...her flesh as meat, her breast milk taken from her babies and made into milk, cheese, ice cream, her male babies taken from her and made into veal. Her female babies taken from her to repeat the cycle of violence. All this is horrid enough. But the real deal breaker for me is how our society treats an animal who gives us all this. We beat them and hide them away in factory farms where they can never feel the sunlight on their skin. We chain them, shoot them up with antibiotics, taze them and ruthlessly kill them. If our society is going to use these animals for nourishment, we should be holding them in the highest regard possible and treating them with the utmost respect. Instead we do the opposite. And that's why I'm vegan.
