More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I prefer to live life as a vegan because it is more truthful to the human experience, more loving towards all living beings, better for health, better for the environment, more humble, more gourmet, more creative, more global, more resonant with a spiritual path, better for cultivating enlightening qualities, better for Karma, better for Dharma and more in rhythm with life.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I have used HappyCow since about the year 2000 but only recently joined the community. I can now see that vegans have more in common with other vegans than with other groups because our minds are more aligned to the same level of realization.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
USA and the reservations, Europe, Egypt, Thailand, India and Nepal.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Everything vegan. I had spent over ten years eating only vegan NOGO. NOGO means no garlic and no onion. This is the traditional way of eating amongst Hindus, Vaishnavas, Jains, Buddhists, Taoists, Confucianists and people with fire imbalances that rely on vegan medical herbalogy. Today I include warming herbs and spices because my metabolism has shifted after 16 years as a vegan and with 18 years with no meat in my diet.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Books: "A Spiritual Renagade's Guide To A Good Life" by Lama Marut, "The Dhammapada" by Byrom a Shambala Pocket Classic, "The Bhagavad Gita" by Graham M. Schweig, "The Upanishads" by Eknath Easwaran, "The Flower Adornment Scripture" by Thomas Cleary and "The Tao Te Ching" by Lao Tzu.

Living as an Eco minded Vegan Hindu Buddhist Astrologer Herbalist, the truthful understanding emerges that non consuming art forms like conversation, meditation, singing and walking barefoot are among the greatest art forms and past times we can enjoy as Earthlings. Ahimsa in the Pali language or Avihimsa in Sanskrit are the ancient terms for harmlessness that helped to format this particular way of being. We must place the highest value on causing no harm. The past times that are harmless should be valued as treasures, and those that cause harm must be avoided. Harmlessness is not passiveness. At times we must be disciplined, strong, direct and decisive to enforce harmlessness and not wane from living correctly. The Vegan lifestyle is a choice to cause the least harm in diet, clothing and many other ways, to make the first step towards a beautiful, spiritual, harmless and wonder filled life of dedication and merit.
