Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I'm a straight edge vegan eco-worrier ;-) Vegetarian since I was 13 or 14, I took the Vegan Campaign's Vegan Pledge in January 2010 after reading up on veganism on Volentia.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I'd been referring to Happy Cow's veg guide for a number of years before I noticed it had a community. Was hoping to connect with other veg*ns around the world, but have been underwhelmed by the lack of apparent activity (the curse of Farcebook I guess!).

I've been vegetarian all my life and I live in SW London. I liked the sound of the meetups you've done and am keen to get in touch with like-minded veg*ns myself. I've now registered on Volantia too as I noticed it mentioned on here by one or two people.
