About:
Hola, my fellow vegetarians! I'm a Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian! I've been practicing vegetarianism for approximately five years now, since 2003 or 2004. My name is Miguel, I'm twenty years old and I'll be twenty-one in February 2009. I'm 70% african american, 25% latino & 5% other. I was born born & raised in Georgia and I currently live in Stone Mountain, GA. I'm 6'0" tall, around 140 lbs, light skinned, short black hair, brown eyes, and fit with a swimmer's build. I'm a bisexual man. I voted for Barack Obama. I'm also an environmentalist. I love Brandy, culinary arts, music, moives, chess, cards, songwriting, poetry, books, recycling, exercising, tennis, and much more. I'm not your usual homosapian, I think differently than most people. My mind is constantly in motion. I'm a very happy and positive person. If you have a myspace, please feel free to check me out and add me as a friend. My intentions on happycow is to make at least one vegetarian friend. Someone I can talk to, write to, meet, eat with and even shop with. www.twitter.com/Miguel_Clark - www.myspace.com/drama_king_online

More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

Wow. There are so many reasons why I choose to be a vegetarian. I care alot about Earth, the environment, animal rights, wildlife conservation and environmental preservation, and being healthy inside and out. It just feels wrong to eat meat or any other animal that has been slain. I'm all about peace, love, freedom, change and positivity...therefore I cannot support harm to animals and plants. Us humans weren't built to run fast, see at night, ear from a long distance, hunt for and kill animals. I believe we're supposed to eat plants, grains, seeds, etc... I become fully aware of exactly who and what I wanted to be in lfe at age 15 and I knew for sure even then that living a vegetarian lifestyle would be the best for my life. I plan on being a vegetarian for the rest of my life and I hope in that time I can inspire and help others to change for the better. (I've definitely consider becoming a vegan, however at this time in my life I am not finanically stable enough to do so.) - I was raised as a Christain in a Missionary Baptist Church, but I've came to the conclusion that being a vegetarian and a christian doesn't mix. There are also alot of other things I disagree with what Christians believe and with what the holy bible says.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I joined this community to connect with other vegetarians like myself. I would like to learn more about vegetarianism, happycow.net and its members.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

A place that I've been to and liked was Daytona Beach, Florida. It's a beautiful place. I've love to return one day. A place I'd like to go to is Martinique...that's my dream vacation.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Well, I'm not a picky person at all, so I am willing to eat/try almost anything good, anything besides dead animals of course. I love white grapes, strawberries, whipped cream, fried green tomatoes, potato salad, corn on the cobb, pasta salad, crossiants, broccoil and cheese soup, focaccia and much more!

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

I would recommend the Vegetarian Times to all vegetarians. As for movies I'd recommend Cadillac Records, The Sound Of Music, Fried Green Tomates, The Color Purple, Cinderella, Double Platinum, X-Men 3, Sex & The City, Dreamgirls, Legally Blonde, and much more. As for music I'd recommend Brandy's album Human, it's honestly the best r&b album of 2008. Also Some Hearts & Carnival Ride by Carrie Underwood, all of Madonna's album, Beyonce's albums, Britney's albums, Pink's albums, Kanye West's albums, Justin Timberlake's albums, Joss Stone's album, Robin Thicke's albums, Amy Winwhouse's albums, Destiny's Child's albums, all of Brandy's album, Aaliyah's albums, and much more. For those of you who don't listen to country music, you should give it a try, it's not bad at all!
