More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I became a vegetarian around the age of 13 because I didn't want to kill animals and eating them made me feel guilty. I wanted to go vegetarian in primary school already but my parents would not let me. A friend of mine was allowed to go vegetarian in secondary school so I decided it was only fair my parents allowed me the same. I ate organic dairy products and organic eggs because I believed if they were organic the animals would have a good life + because if it wasn't meat it wouldn't involve killing any animals. Things changed when I moved to Japan at the age of 21. In Japan I could not find organic eggs in any supermarket so I always went to a special tiny store somewhat far from my home to buy my organic eggs. Only to find out after half a year I was buying fertilised eggs. I had never heard of the practice of fertilising eggs and was utterly disgusted. This triggered me to do my research on eggs and dairy and I decided to quit eating eggs and dairy products altogether. I did not want to be part of this cruel business. I should have done my research way earlier but I was raised to believe vegans were extremists and my parents already had a hard time accepting me as a vegetarian so I did not want to make things even harder. I'm a married adult now but my parents still don't agree with my ways, though I believe they are gradually accepting things the way they are now.

I will be traveling to Kyoto on tuesday for 3 nights and I was wondering if you could recommend some favourite or decent restaurants (either vegan or vegan options) around Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto.
I do not mind if I have to travel a bit for some.
Kind regards, Mikael
