More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I am vegan because I do not want to be a party to the violence caused to animals when their bodies are transformed into products and services for human consumption.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I joined Happy Cow to help further its mission and connect with like-minded people.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

Fortunate to have lived and worked for 20 years in the USA. Returned to the UK in 2007. I enjoy visiting European countries, particularly France, Spain and Italy, but would like to see more. I do fly but prefer to travel by train whenever possible.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

My preference is for Italian and Mediterranean cuisine as well as Indian. I do not like vegan products that are made to resemble meat or pieces of meat.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

There are many fine animal rights books. Check out these authors: Carol J. Adams, Peter Singer, Tom Regan, Marti Kheel, Paul Waldau, Lori Gruen. Historically important authors include Henry Salt and Edward Carpenter and novelists Brigid Brophy and Maureen Duffy.
