More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I have always loved animals (actually, more than humans). I didn't grow up a vegetarian; but, I have been one for the past 27 years. The unspeakable cruelty animals suffer when they are slaughtered is just so disturbing to me. When you look into the sweet eyes of any animal, why in the world you want to slaughter it?

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I travel quite a bit, so when I hit a new town, I like to see where the vegetarians are eating. Also, Miami is not very vegetarian friendly, so I always like to see new places listed to go to.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

I love love love Utah! It has a beauty about it that I have not found anywhere else. I would love to go to Alaska; it is the only state I have not been to.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Peanut butter tofu from Rosetta's Kitchen in Asheville, NC - my all-time favorite! The TLT from Firestone Cafe (also Asheville) runs a really, really close second!

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

Read the book "The Lorax" by Dr. Seuss to your kids. It's an important lesson in why NOT to use up our beautiful natural resources.

Thank you for the thank you. Your pictures are great. Nice to meet another picture taker!

Oh and read your bio...I also loathe the invention of the cell phone
