Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
The long term benefits of a plant-based diet to the body and the environment. No animals are harmed in the process, therefore ethically, it is the right path to undertake. It tastes better - guilt free, made with love, delicious.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I enjoy food blogging (and reading food blogs) and reading vegetarian/vegan recipes. I hope, through HappyCow, I can learn and grow more as a person in a tightknit community that focuses on the wellbeing of its members. I also am interested in pursuing my current vegetarian lifestyle further by going vegan. Also, it gives me inspiration when I'm stumped as to what vegetarian options are there available in the restaurants I go to.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I've been to Cambodia and I loved it. Natively Taiwanese and brought up in the Buddhist family, we ate vegetarian most of the time anyway. I've also been to Hong Kong. I went to Japan and thoroughly loved it there. I would love to visit Europe, Asia and the Arctic Circle one day.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
I love anything from Iku Wholefoods and Hari's Vegetarian! I eased into vegan/raw foods through these two places and I couldn't be happier. I make my own cabbage/carrot/celery soup, flavoured with tomato and cilantro and ginger. It is my winter comfort food.
