Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
It's good for me (health) and good for everyone else (reduced climate impact, less nitrogen and pesticide runoff into rivers and oceans, less cruel animal handling, less antibiotic overuse, less deforestation and habitat loss).
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I just did my first online book review. And belatedly realized, after using Happy Cow for a decade, that i should give back. Plus, I want the good restaurants to be there when I need them. (The altruistic motive sounded so much better, huh.) Also: there are a few categories I find in veg places: the "juice bar and wheat grass" type, the "high end prices with micro portions (tho very decoratively arranged)" and the "solid, good food with reasonable prices". I am an advocate of this last category.
