More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

Mostly environmental, and growing animal feed, then eating the animals just seems... inefficient. As for wild fish, there's overfishing and slavery, and after I got to that point eating other wild animals felt strange. Sometimes I eat insects because it might be a worthwhile major protein source one day - want to support its development.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

Belgians like restaurants, I'm trying to integrate ;-) Also I don't have any friends who like veggie food, so it's also a way to get out there and see the possibilities.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

Been & liked: Vlieland. One day: Antarctica (for science).

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Celery schnitzel, grilled halloumi, cherry tomatoes.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

Last Chance to See by Douglas Adams. It's a very witty account of his travels with zoologist Mark Cawardine, checking up on endangered species around the world.
