More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
Health reasons first and foremost, and I am not ashamed of that! However, animal liberation and environmental reasons are very important to me. Plus, veggies and fruits are soooo tastey! :]
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
To make new vegetarian friends, and get the support I need. My fiance is an omni, so she doesn't understand why I would give up "tastey" meat. Although she loves and supports me anyway, I need people around me that understand my food choices.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
Gettysburg, Pa is one of my favorite places! I am a big history buff! I also love Glenrock, Pa; Ricketts Glen, Pa; and Caledonia, PA. I would love to be able to go camping in Newfoundland, visit Germany, Ireland, Japan and The Isle of Man.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Strawberries! Apples, oranges, pears, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, bing cherries, watermelon, cantalope, honeydew melon, carrots, kale, spinach, broccoli, squash, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, almonds, pecans, soy milk, beans...
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Vegetarian Times is my favorite vegetarian magazine. I loved their recent pub food for St. Patrick's Day for us Irish folk! :] For movies I recommend Super Size Me, Earthlings and I Am an Animal. Totally loved the book Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer as well.
