More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
Custom, conventions and going for the easy option is something we do all the time. I used to eat meat even though it thought it wasn't right to kill animals. I miss the taste of meat but I don't think I will eat it again (nobody knows the future). The inconvenience is annoying at times still I have never regretted being a vegetarian.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I joined Happy Cow a couple of years ago but only just recently spent some time looking through the listings. Being a vegetarian in Bangkok can get a bit boring, most restaurants have the same veggie options. Green Curry, Mama noodles, and fried rice are great but you do get bored with the same old meals. I have found Happy Cow a great resource for new food and new places, lots of user generated content can be hit and miss but I think it's the most reliable guide for judging restaurants. I like the feedback options on the reviews so other users and owners can have an opportunity to object to or confirm criticism.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I've liked London, Munich's city parks, Lubeck's marzipan shops, The Pyramids at Giza, Siwa Oasis, Petra, Wadi Rum, Dahab, Lunag Namtha (Laos), Bangkok, Angkor Wat, I'd like to go to India (for longer than 2 hours on a transfer) been meaning to go for a while I'll get there one day.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Thai Green Curry, Tome Kaa, Laab Het, Double fried Daal, Garlic Naan Bread.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
"The Art of living", "Upanishads" Edited Version of the central texts," Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy" by Douglas Adams"Rumpole of the Bailey" By John Mortimer, "All is Song" By Samantha Harvey, And the book I'm trying to write if I ever finish it.
