About:
We have the strength to help the weak not hurt them..Maybe we are superior to other animals, we're at the top of the food chain, and we're omnivores but still it sounds silly right, skinning innocent animals, forcing shampoo down beagles' throats, stealing milk from another species and slaughtering billions of animals causing suffering and loss of precious lives and then concealing all this behind adverts with so much unnecessary harm coming from this, like there being tonnes of people starving out there because their grain has been fed to livestock so people can enjoy a steak.. not to mention the methane gases being one of the largest contributors to pollution and how the destruction of the forests is causing so much damage to our earth. Gee we need oxygen to survive.. I think we need that more than meat/dairy/animal products. It is not worth taking away countless lives out of greed. To live healthy and as guilt free as we can possibly be, is a target we should strive for.

More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I watched Earthlings and I have never felt so disturbed. I feel like being informed is of high importance and that we should not be blind to what devastating things happen to non-human animals behind brutal industries. Practise what you preach is something I feel to be necessary. However ongoing preaching aloud with anger and arrogance and trying to convert people saying they're wrong and disgusting is kinda actually pointless as this is what puts people off being vegan. Even fellow vegetarians may understand veganism but just don't have the ultimate commitment. And veganism is basically an ideal accomplished if you are caring enough but it still is difficult to grasp in certain ways n terms of its definition and does have arguments against it. Yeh people need to realise what they are doing but in the right way. They should be respected if they understand or not, either way. If they care enough to realise then that's fine. If not, they have a different view/ upbringing and that's just the way they are, it is their problem. Or just because they use animal products doesn't mean they don't care. They might just be in a very unlucky situation or have something else they are struggling with and have to worry about in their lives. It's not okay to prejudge anyone. That's what being vegan is all about. It's about equal treatment and taking things into consideration. Life's not perfect but we believe in the progression towards Equality in the right to life, choices, minimal suffering and compassion. Chances are we vegans are against all types of oppression. However it can never be perfect. We just have to spread the word and let others make the change by themselves. It is of course understandable that we may get angry at others for oppressing the weaker, and not following our ways to help the innocent but they may need to realise in their own time, (I was once a meat eater myself who hated vegans and it took me a while to understand)...it makes sense for many to say that if we want compassion and care about our earth and animals we know also that eating meat/dairy isn't really a personal choice if it has a victim just as murdering isn't a personal choice so why should killing an animal be too much different if we are to be responsible and sustainable.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

My dream is to one day get a pet pig and become good at finding the best vegan food and I want to know more about this lifestyle and how it affects people. Veganism is compassionate and interesting when trying new recipes. I wholeheartedly believe that this is the best way to make the connection with animals and the environment but i don't know if I can actually call myself vegan at the moment because people are judgemental and harsh and bully me. It is especially my family that do not allow for me to call myself a vegan. I do not want to cause trouble to them because I love them they are my life and I respect them. I use animal products where I am forced to but 95% of the time I am vegan. To be personal, veganism is what I deep down consider to be the best way to feel good about choices and life. It is a progression towards being cruelty free. How u treat an animal reflects your personality as a human towards other humans as well. If u consciously abuse an animal you're likely to reflect that on humans. However if u don't have a choice or you don't quite have enough understanding of the information on animal use, then I guess your not gunna understand vegans. There must always be compassion in this world full of suffering and endless pain
