More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I began eating vegetarian about 5 months ago. I started when I did a body cleanse, and after it was over and I was eating a normal diet, I ate a hamburger and it DESTROYED my stomach. I then thought, well, I never at this crap anyway so I will cut all cow, pig and lamb out. Then it spiraled from there. I am not officially vegan at this very moment, but I am taking baby steps! I'm more than half way there, and so far I'm loving it!

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I joined HappyCow so that I can get connected with the vegetarian community and find out places where I can go to eat, and maybe learn more about my new life commitment. :)

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

I lived in San Francisco, CA for 3 1/2 years and I miss it so much! I love Nevada, I camped out there a few years ago, I aim to do a cross country road trip in the next couple of years and Nevada will DEFINITELY be a pit stop ;). And, of course, I would love to see Italy, Ireland, India, Asia, etc.. etc.. the whole world!

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

God, too much! I love stuff as simple as a carrot stick dipped in hummus to home-made vegan stromboli. I've eaten a lot of vegan food in the past five years because I am lactose intolerant. I've always dabbled with the idea but couldn't break away from my beloved chicken wings, haha! I look forward to trying more delicious alternatives

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

I love: William S. Burroughs, Jack Kerouac, Charles Bukowski, Sylvia Plath, Allan Ginsberg, Grant Morrison, etc.
